Good to see Cadel having a go. I hope he has a big season this year.

Ok, so Cadel has officially 'attacked' this year, let the wheelsucking commence . All baiting aside I hope Cadel is somewhat more successfull with his new approach eventhough I doubt he'll win the tour .

Serpa won a stage at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina in January but had since racked up six second places in other races. He had stood out in the peloton for his broad moustache but recently shaved it off, worried it was a bad luck curse.

“There was a risk that finishing second was becoming a curse,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I felt good today, I stayed in the front group I could count on the support of my teammates who worked for me. I was the first to attack on the first climb and on the second one. I think I won the sprint pretty well.”

Well a strong effort for Cadel, but really he is supposed to be having a bit of lighter year but he is just too competitive to let anything go. I suspect he could do only 10 days racing before the TDF and still turn up tired because he would exhaust himself in those days.

...he pulled out with 1, 2 or 3 laps to go anyway. 150km isn't season breaking, sure it was tough conditions but he would have retired earlier if it was doing harm.
