Mohorič would likely need a tad better team support. That would give him the edge, when it comes to finishing off. As currently, whenever he is in such position, most of the times he already wasted too much energy getting there.

According to the team doctor, who spoke on RAI, he told them to call his gf when there where going to transport him to the hospital, so that he could talk with her.

I'd say today was a pretty good argument against the banning of the supertuck. He did just fine for years, supertucking away. Then they banned it, and what does he do? He crashes!
Please note that I am only partly serious, but it is ironic that one of the most prolific supertuckers in the peloton has a serious crash after the supertuck got banned.

I wanted to say a thing about supertuck, but opted against it. Mohorič could have crashed, while in the supertuck. And people would say UCI was right all along. What i am trying to say is i don't necessarily see the connection, either way.

P.S. In general i can agree that banning the supertuck IMHO doesn't improve the safety in peloton.

For a super skilled bike handler, and a phenomenal descender, Mohorič crashes a lot. Probably because of his riding always on the limit, almost reckless at times. It's a big shame. It feels like every time he is coming into form, something happens to him. Hopefully he is fully recovered in a couple of weeks.

There was a hole in the road, that is why Mohorič crashed.

P.S. That is on why in general i feel that UCI should mandate things like shoveling a bit of asphalt, on dangerous road sections, before getting green light.

I wasn't disagreeing with you on the first point. Was just trying to support it even more by quoting it. Sorry, if it was confusing.

Maybe it'is just recency bias from my part. It's the second GT in a row he crashes out early in the first week.

Nice and hard race today at nationals road race. Congrats for taking the title. Bahrain and UAE really made the race into a thriller. At one point Mohorič was already behind and it all looked like the race is lost for him. Still he managed to bounce back and take the win.

He is a diesel. You just can't get rid of him. He's always coming back, be it on the descent or on the false flat. Nice win!
