Frank beat Bertogiliati at the tour de suisse TT by 48 seconds a few days ago and I don't think you can say that the guy didn't have form or wasn't trying.

A TT during a stage race (especially a longer one like TdS) is a totally different thing from a one day TT event.

And the latter suits Bertogliati more than Frank.

I do agree that bertogilati is moe the favourite but two years ago at the tt nationals in switzerland Mathias only was beaten by bertogliati by 2 seconds.

So Frank didn't win, only third, however he did beat Bertogliati. The average speed of 41.6 km/h seems to indicate that it was really hilly and challenging.

3. Mathias Frank (BMC) 0:41.

Interview with Mathias Frank

I think I heard him say he is down for the Vuelta which is good news. I don't speak good German (even though it was Swiss) so could someone who does just give a general idea of what he said would be much appreciated.

I imagine Frank would of really wanted to win the ITT especially as the TT takes plance in the town where he was born.
