'Helmet saved me from serious head trauma' - Mattias Skjelmose resumes training just days after heavy Paris-Nice crash

I read a confession like that at lest once per season. It's time to extend safety apparel in pro cycling beyond just helmet. It's basically the only thing with proven track record to actually work.

It's almost like a helmet protects the most important body part.

But I think the clue is in your last sentence. ;)

Maybe some of you don't remember but it was the same with helmets. A lot of jackassing passed around at that point in time. Today people would in general likely just assume, on how it went smoothly.

People being against something that turned out to work well, doesn't mean that everything people are against works well.

Last time i have seen it in action was when Lindsey Vonn fell. I do understand the scepticism and lets first do a couple of testimonials more in other sports, like we have done with helmets in regards to pro peloton. But note that we can't wait to convince every flat earther before moving forward. Two decades back not everybody believed helmets are the way to go either.

If you're so insistent on repeating yourself, I'm gonna do the same: people opposing something that turned out to be good =/= every idea people are opposed to is a good idea.

But, you know, if you believe it's in the (air)bag, you do you. Get a start-up going or something.

I think he rode like an idiot in the final, taking pulls and looking behind even though they were never going to be caught, so I believe him when he says he didn't believe he could actually win. But when you pack a decent sprint, you always have a chance, and the stars aligned for him today.
