He was a mod under the name RDVD4 or similar.

It was some corruption of Roubaix I think, it came up in that thread. He could well have been but I wasn't aware of it. The only person I know for certain who was a mod was Susan as I have only ever had one official interaction with a mod, which was her. It's very possible there are several other members who have been a mod at some time floating around that I don't know about. I know of two.

Even after the name change I had "the member formerly known as RDV4ROUBAIX" as my signature for years after.

Susan Westemyer, Daniel Benson and Alpe d'Huez can all confirm this.

That would probably mean you stopped being a mod just before I joined. I think we've discussed it before when talking about 104BCD cranks on my monster cross, no need for confirmation. I was just pointing out I had no idea you used to be a mod so it's clear that wouldn't have factored into any decision.

See, you're doing it again: snide insults that slide by. The crux of the matter is that the insults of yours left to stand are no better than the wirst of anything blutto's said in recent years. And the mutual animosity is palpable--whatever hard segments it's rooted in. Maybe the mods felt he'd slipped the leash in the wrong, innocuous, thread. Fair enough. But I knew you'd banned him. And not from you. Or that time. Nor am I holding you accountable for the ban.

So where's that get us? KB randomly stopped his ride and thought the disc brake thread had become too contentious? I doubt it.

I've known, but only after chasing down the story on why GM has a different screen handle and all that wild goosechasery and habberdashery.

GM gets no points for being an ex mod, neither do any of the other ex mods.

Sometimes i think there is a notion mods salute bans - then have a big afterparty. In my experience nothing can be further from the truth.

And before considering theories of mob pressure, or any other kind of pressure. It can easily backfire as well, as mods in general dont appreciate such. This is often part of the equation when moderating.

Point is, I understand a critical mind can find flaws and possible «collusion» in mod actions. Surely the mods are human and perform here as such. But dont confuse this with the real world, where massive gains are made in «cheating». Mods mostly get grief, whatever they do.

Gallic Ho did have a pretty epic meltdown but his permaban does mean we are saved from novel length posts, that can only be a good thing

....seems someone was kind enough to remove my post thanking some folks who were supportive to moi over the last little while....

....there was also a tag line that was attached which consisted of some quotes from posts that have graced the pages of this forum for quite a while now....kinda funny how that could be an issue....like they were freely posted by, uhh, someone, and didn't call anyone any names or anything like that....

....guess we can safely say that can be filed under "I got nothing to hide but me and my monkey"....btw if "you" or your monkey are hungry, I got a peanut for youse ( I always carry one around for situations just like this )...
