He didn't impress me today. Dropping with three to go by ridimg not so fast tempo while the peloton was with double digit numbers isn't a dawg domestique performance to me.
I can recall quite a lot domestique performances better than his (froome, porte, quintana, smydt, piepoli) and less than half of these names have lead and won GCs afterwards.
Hopefully it is only a form issue, but Im starting to fear that Sky knows Landa's number limits and is trying to shift his duties into domestiqueing.

He looked tired

and as i said earlier I was surprised he was not the last man for Froome
Also Poels doesn't not look in extra ordinary form....certainly not like this time last year

Henao is obviously the strongest of the 3

Henao his final turn wasn't impressive at all, he slowly died following the wheel of Landa.

I like him but i think that he is a little bit overrated as a climber, and this maybe happens because he beat contador fair and square in stage 20 of giro

Might have had to go harder than he expected due to innacurate time gaps, hell he could still grab a Top 10 at this race. It's not his job to be last man anyway that's Mr Thomas or Henao.

He beat Contador fair and square a lot more times than that stage.
No he didn't... stage 20 was the only time that he gains minutes... in mortirolo, contador was one minute, don't forget it

You guys know he took a heavy fall today and still did that pull on a sore hip, right?

Well that must have been it then ...cos his face did look pretty pained ...he does that thing where his teetch stick out like the are false or something

And saying he was not supposed to be last man for Froome is a bit naff if you also say he is the best climber...the best climber is the last man !!!
Strange logic

SKY have the strongest team at the Dauphine but don;t look as strong as expected ...and need ot be top when Movistar & Astana bring their top team to the Tour

I read he crashed while trying to follow Contador on the Madeleine?

Ok, you're right. However, Contador lost time to Landa in the majority of the mountain stages (at least when Landa didn't have to pace Aru until the end).

There were 6 men together at the top of la madeleine: Froome, Henao, Landa, Porte, Contador, Bardet.

I don't know what you expected.

I was talking about the whole team ...not just Landa & Henao
(on paper SKY looked unbeatable & brilliant...they are still good (well most of them) but my point is not as brilliant as expected )

Also where you are at the end of the stage is most important

Sad to see him work like that...new heras
It's normal for a rider who has yet to prove he can fill the leader's shoes in a GT to work for the guy who's already won two Tours.

No idea.

You'd think there should be a picture of this.

you can tell he isn't at his best yesterday but did you see the monster pull he put in? if they can get him fully fit over the next month he will be flying in the mountains

Well, the whole team was Froome, 3 climbers, who were all with him at the bottom of the final climb, and 3 riders for the flat, so it's hardly a surprise they weren't there at the end. And by the way, Sky managed to extend their lead in the team classification, despite working all day, so they were still pretty good at the end of the stage.

Vasilis

You mistake my meaning...Of course SKY are good ...they have leaders in their own right on the team

My point is not as good as I expected...not Poels, not Kwait ...not even the climbers, Heano didn't last long and Landa did a good pull but not spectacular and didn't gain alot of time on the front men...We have seen riders like Kiry do long pulls before without as much fanfare
Froome is very good
Team is good but no Astana/Movistar yet to contend with I don't think they are unbeatable

That is my point
(and I never said they should all be there at the end ..I do know cycling  ...my point is what the climbers are like at the end)

Did good work this week.

Yeah but he is supposed to be the best climber in the peloton and he is dropped on climbs before at least 14 other riders ?

Heano is there after him ??

He needs to be in the last 5 (as porte was) for Froome to chase Quintana/Contador in the final week
Nothing he did in this Dauphine convinced me of this

Sure yesterday he rode at the front for 10km but we have seen other riders at SKY do this as well
Where is the extra that makes him a GT winner .. I didn't see this as a Dom

Henao & Poels are too similar in my book and not consistent over 3 weeks...I'd only bring one of them to the Tour
