This thread is stupid.

Cav won on Scott, on Specialized, and now is winning on Pinarello.

Boonen won on Time, won on Merckx, and on Specialized.

Levi has wheelsucked on Trek and on Specialized.

It's not the arrow, it's the Indian.
Agreed. As much as I don't like brands such as Specialized, Cervelo and Trek, the difference between most of the major brands is pretty minimal. They are all building very capable bikes.

I've said it in another thread - the standard of bikes is so high these days it doesn't really matter which brand you ride anymore. The biggest factor now is personal preference.

I've been saying this for ages... functionally most modern bikes are pretty close... the only differentiation is aesthetics.

Aesthetics in looks and road feel/handling.

Colnago's handle and ride like a dream, Cannondales are predictable as anything so they can be thrown around kamikaze-style in crits and descents, Pinarello's are ludicrously stiff and Specialized have massive headtubes to relax the ride - each brand tends to have something about their bikes that people either love or hate but it's rarely anything that impacts performance anymore.
