I love this race. It's one of my favourites, but unlike all my other favourites where I have to watch all afternoon, for Sanremo I can do whatever I want for my whole Saturday and only catch the final 30km and don't miss anything.
Exactly. It’s the least time-consuming monument.

Why would a different team besides UAE set a high pace? For example, why doesn't Alpecin just sit in the peloton, instead of setting up their own train? Is it purely to have a proper position in the descent?
