for that he needs real helpers and they are not these, little Del Toro was excellent but 2 strong players were missing instead of Ullisi and HirschiI like Pog, but if the race is not hard enough, he needs to make it harder.

I guess he could have tried another attack, but I also think people would have been quicker to jump to his wheel than they were with Sobrero. He probably also needed a little pause after leading most of the descent although I have to admit that this opens up the question why he was leading on the descent in the first place. Yeah, not a tactically great race for him, but I still think the majority of the tactical blame lies on the team and not on himThey took the intermediate between 2 different strategies and it was the worst of both worlds. Wasting nearly all of the team on Cipressa before a recovery ride before Poggio and then having 2 guys to line up the Poggio is the worst you can do.
Either you need to try some voodoo *** on Cipressa but then then you need to go much harder on the Capi or you set up the entire train and make a Nibali style attack despite the fact that everyone is looking at you.
Also, he didn't really play any tactical games after the Poggio at all, and I'm pretty sure winning wasn't impossible if he makes the correct late attack. Probably the perfect moment would have been after Mohoric had been pulled back.
Race is over. I’ll stop joking now.1907. In bad weather.
Bettiol climbing really well—was right with Pogacar and MVDP on Pog’s 1st attack and then was a bit out of position when Pog attacked again. Most surprising thing today was Bettiol not dropping on the Capo Berta already after having a superday earlier in the week.
Hirshi has done nothing at UAE to live up to his promise from the Tour with DSM ?Ulissi and Hirshi out of contract end of year.
The door was closed. There was no room. Philipsen was behind him. He didn't need to cause a crash to keep Philipsen behind him, he only needed to hold his line.
Say what you want about Remco, but at least he wouldn't be hugging people and taking selfies after loosing a race...
He's back baby!!!!those with a grain of salt in their heads know that this is the best Pog ever, for him this was a walk and the pace was not strong enough, watch Catalonia and enjoy, he will destroy everything

Answer(s) were obvious, Del Toro in the front and was big part of going from 2:12 to 18 seconds at the base of the climb. Del Toro early bad habits erased, he does some lily pad style, starts from the back and uses riders in front of him as micro targets and passes as many as possible to finally end up in front. Tirreno Adriatico. Del Toro and the team need to determine how he sets pace from the back,he doesn't. Almost doomed him in Australia. Pretty impressive evolution, racing at the back to racing at the front in a couple of months as a first year pro. Take away.. He can follow directions, and was part of successful tactics to Pogacar in front, chasing and keeping leader out of trouble. But serious, why do you bring young Del Toro, who is still bad at fighting for positions, as a key domestique to this race?

That's what I meant. He and the team need to make it harder.Well, since most parts are flats and 3-4% climbs, you need a team to make it hard because drafting plays a too big role to do it your own like on a 8%-10% climb.
That's a WAY harder finale; as much as I like Bettiol as a dark horse to surprise I don't think he's going to be able to live with Pog and MVDP at the end. That said, it's why they actually hold the races; if I had to pick anyone beside the big two it would be him or Mads...man to watch at RVV ???
The moment after the cipressa when they slowed down. That would be a good time for him to attackPogacar is 100% hoping Remco is riding this next year. He needs someone else who wants a hard race.
The door was not closed, lol, there was a gap that could fit 2 to 3 guys, i just rewatched the sprint. The door was closed. There was no room. Philipsen was behind him. He didn't need to cause a crash to keep Philipsen behind him, he only needed to hold his line.
Bling and Philipsen are two of Pogacar closest friends, did you really expect him to tell them to go f*** *** like he did with Van Baarle?Say what you want about Remco, but at least he wouldn't be hugging people and taking selfies after loosing a race...
