The players clearly turned on him. I'm just wondering what effect that would have on one of the biggest egomaniacal jerks of our time. :)

When your fellow players are not only saying you should be kicked out of the union but calling for pitchers bean you if you play again then you have problems whether of not you are an egomaniacal jerk.

On a lighter note, without MLB's trend of steroids, not-very-intelligent players, and general f-it attitude we would never have gotten the gem that is "Eastbound and Down". So at least there is that.

Cycling fans may find this...amusing. Back in 2007, MLB actually gave ARoid a TUE to use testosterone.

"In 2007, of the 1,354 players subjected to testing, 111 were granted a TUE. Only two, apparently including Rodriguez, received an exemption for (testosterone)...Rodriguez went on to win his third MVP award in 2007...and signed a new 10-year deal with the Yankees that would pay him a guaranteed $275 million."

Some people believe that Arod could no longer produce enough natural testosterone, because he had been taking artificial testosterone for so many years. There are reports that he has been taking testosterone since high school.

Kind of ironic, that someone can get a TUE, BECAUSE they were a doping cheat.:)
