BBC smell blood on Mo Farah. Why dont they investigate Paula Radcliffe............................

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/athletics/33125707

But why do they still keep repeating the spineless mantra "There is no suggestion that Farah has been involved in doping."??? When surely this is exactly what is being suggested. I think what they actually mean is that there is no (or Mo) evidence of Mo doping or that they haven't got their ducks in a row yet.

I reckon Sally is going for the "shoot the messenger " defence. Should be fun anyways.

Lawyers insert it into the copy I am sure of that.

Heads in the sand fella. Didn't Arsene Wenger complain about players getting tested twice a season or something ridiculous?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/9858938/Arsene-Wenger-our-game-is-full-of-drug-fuelled-legends-and-needs-to-be-cleaned-up.html
interesting link, but what a weird interview. First part contains some very intelligent, realistic remarks from Wenger about doping, for instance about Fuentes working with the Spanish soccer team, about the unreal zero positives at the recent WC in South Africa, and gems like
We are at the level where people are ready to do anything to win
Then suddenly this:
“It’s not a perfect world but I don’t think cheating or match-fixing is a problem,” he said. “I personally feel English football is clean of cheating 100%.
wtf?

Context in the preceding sentence.

Wenger said that he could not say whether English football was immune from a doping problem but his experiences do make him believe that match-fixing is not an issue in our national game. “It’s not a perfect world but I don’t think cheating or match-fixing is a problem,” he said. “I personally feel English football is clean of cheating 100%. I don’t think referees are corrupt”

Wenger has always on numerous occasions when referring to the Marseille match fixing scandal, felt that English football didn't have a problem with match-fixing. As an insider he probably hasn't heard anything of the sort, but of course that doesn't mean it's 100% bullet proof from it at the same time. Spot fixing certainly goes on and match fixing would be a lot more vulnerable at the lower echelons due to the greater chance of financial influence (of course taking into account the lesser wages on offer for players there).

So Farah recently missed some tests, the plot thickens. Wait, what, this was shortly before the glorious 2012 Olympics?

Mo has done some fine doubles in his time,
but Canadian Andre De Grasse apparently
has done the fastest ever one day 100/200
double with 9.75w and 19.58w at the NCAA's.
Well done, lad  !!

It was wind aided!

Yes, my friend, that is what the 'w' in the 9.75w and 19.58w refers to.
Apparently still the fastest 'any conditions' double in history. A very
fine day at the track. Good luck to Andre for the rest of the season,
and to the Canadian 4X100 team.

"Farah is alleged to have claimed he did not hear the doorbell when testers arrived "

I mean, that excuse might fly with Jehovah's witnesses and mother-in-laws, but I wouldn't have thought WADA would be too impressed.

I'm still non nonplussed as to why the BBC kick started all this. Farah was one of their favourites. Does anyone remember how excited they got when he ran half of the London Marathon? He was bringing in viewing figures etc. He's either really really upset someone or there is much more to this story and they've decided to get in there first as it were.

Telegraph too now.

More questions to ask of UK Athletics and UKAD as to why this was kept under wraps.

Because he's not actually broken any rules? Refusing a test is the same as submitting a positive, but athletes are "allowed" to miss two tests in an 18 month period (time-limit may have changed now, think they extended it but not sure).

It's dodgy as hell with the doorbell excuse, but he's not actually broken any rules so I don't see why it would be reported. It would be interesting to know how many tests he did submit to in that time period and when they were though.

good to hear that UKAD dont 'swallow' **** and bull stories about not hearing the doorbell !!

You'd be surprised.

He only missed 2, that's what an athlete is allowed to miss so he hasn't broken any rules. They should have targeted him for random tests if they were suspicious / wanted to catch him. I wonder if they did.

It would be interesting to know how many athletes have missed two tests. It wouldn't surprise me if most of them have done so, it's basically a doping freebie, just pretend you didn't hear the doorbell and nobody can touch you.

The medical condition is referred to as 'convenient deafness'. I was once accused of it myself, in class at school. I've never forgotten the term.

Is it usual to publish these? Dont know of other sports where that happens.
Information on missed tests should be routinely published, not left for papers to find out years after the event.

This lack of procedural integrity in anti-doping is down to all the fifth columnists and high level doping enablers like Verbruggen and Blatter, along with many others who have polluted the corridors of WADA and the IOC for years with their pernicious influence and corrupt practices.

The Beeb are saying its been cut to 12 months now. I think that actually makes it easier for the athlete doesn't it? You could miss in Jan 2014, Feb 2015 and April 2015 and you would be banned. Now only 2 of those would be in the same 12 month period - no ban!?! Not sure if that is UKAD or WADA rule (WADA I guess).
