1) People are past caring due to doping scandal fatigue.
2) Last year's Grand Depart is definitive proof that people couldn't care less in the UK.
3) Last year I spoke to a Scottish couple at the GD (who knew their stuff about cycling) and they accept the paradigm unquestioningly that only Johnny Foreigner dopes.
4) I started watching Lord Clark's 1968 "Civilization" series for the BBC and subsequent review in "The Spectator" from 2014.
5) The point was made in the review that this show could not be made today - go figure.
6) In the final episode Clark quotes from WB Yeats:

.... Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity ....

UK Anti-Doping has confirmed it is carrying out an investigation into allegations made by the BBC Panorama programme “Catch Me If You Can” on Wednesday 3 June 2015.

If they find enough to prosecute, the finding will appear in due course, after any relevant appeals windows (or appeals themselves).

If they don't prosecute, then they will not publish any detailed information.

How did that UKAD investigation get on into looking into the Linda McCartney confessions ? I seem to remember that everyone forgot about it once they had kicked it soi far. Not sure that tactic will work here, but they are going to give it a go.

Given that the BBC has just lost the Olympics, it might well explain why they have gone after "Team Mo". In other words, they knew in advance that they were in the process of losing their entire sports portfolio. Moreover, they had their fingers well and truly burned over the Jimmy Saville affair and there is the prospect of being finally dumped by the government thus losing the TV license revenue.

I will go with the latter option in that case, and no great media interest to keep the matter on peoples minds.

With both UKAD and USADA involved, plenty of media and some high profile former NOP runners, this is not going quiet anytime soon.

Depends if they had enough on him to take out proceedings, which I doubt very much they do.

Whether they have the inclination to do anything anyway is open to question.

UK athletics have a clear vested interest in not finding anything.

In my early teens I wanted to be a footballer (like I guess about 90% of boys in this country).

Looking at what it takes now, i'm glad that was never my path. Fifa themselves admit that half the players at the world cup abuse painkillers.

I think I'd accept a little painkiller abuse, and tons of PEDs, if it meant getting the average premier league wage along with the average celebrity status afforded to a footballer.
