To be fair, Benotti, if I wanted an assessment of whether something was funny or not it wouldn't be to you that I would come.

that's funny...................and a much better sig choice

Mark L

but don't blame me if after choosing such a sig the mod mafia got their ban hammers out

Man I thought that guy was a troll when he said he liked the way BC dropped the bike in the team sprint to allow a restart, thinking they were clever.

He publicly says cycling is just entertainment so who cares if they dope, but then spends the rest of his time trolling posters in the Clinic in defense of Sky and its riders.

Then bickers with a mod about bickering.

Quality posting bro. Atta boy.

Don't know. But I learnt today that you aren't allowed to quote other posters

You and I both know that is not the reason I asked you to remove that signature. It was because the signature was being used to mock Red Flanders.

Then you went and changed to 'posted by a crybaby.' Changing it to this just proves that were you doing it for no other reason then to harass, troll, and insult. And if you continue these kind of things any more, more serious action will be considered.

How can somebody be offended by their own words?

Amazing how prickly some people are here. Is it a total lack of sense of humour or a total lack of humilty?

You know, I typed a long response to this.

Then I remembered an adage about never arguing with a certain type of person because they'll just beat you over the head or something

This undercurrent trolling technique is perfected by many of these sorts of posters.

Love ignore.

I'd still like to know if I can quote Hitler on my signature or not.

The answer is probably yes, unless Hitler is a poster here and might feel ridiculed by you quoting his words in your sig.

Talk about being hypersensitive.

I'm curious to discover just how much trolling will be allowed in the Contador and Froome: Clean or Dirty? thread before it's considered to be, ya' know, trolling?

Not that there's a lack of effort being displayed there, mind you.

What is it with this bizarre obsession with so-called trolling within the Clinic section of this forum?

I've never seen anything like it. Certainly not on any other forum and not even in other sections of this forum.

What I see is people posting their own viewpoints and then getting attacked as being 'trolls', usually in some sort of childish attempt to invoke moderator action. Are you guys even adults?

Its like I've wandered into some sort of Scientology cult meeting where even the slightest deviation from 'The Script' results in immediate attack from the soldier ants.

I second this viewpoint.

Trolling with the word "trolling." Outstanding work.

I think I've figured it out! Out in the real world the worse thing you can be blamed for right now (or one of the worse things) is hate speech/crime. You get this on your resume and your an outcast. Banned from "civil society." I think that's what trolling is on this forum. It's the biggest no no. Sometimes it's genuine hurtful trolling, but often it's just people who can't stand to hear another view point other than theirs. People it's a form. Not everyone is going to agree with you perfectly...doesn't make them a troll. Just get some thicker skin. Now look, I'm gonna be called a troll now.

Awhile back it was "fanboy" and "intern."

When it comes to terms being used in the Clinic thread (even if this might not be the right thread for it), can anyone explain what vortexing is supposed to mean? I've seen the word being used several times and only got a vague idea of what it is, but would like to be sure about it.

It's a dialog with another user characterized by an insistent demand for links, a narrow focus on concrete details, a righteous cast ("I'm fighting for truth."), and--most definingly--a dogged refusal to just let it go.

ebandit describes it well.

I'm seeing a lot more aggression these days. One person posts a talking point. Another agrees. Someone else sees slightly different and they are attacked aggressively.

For some the Clinic is a one way blog to post their views.

Lucky I have a thick skin.
