Pricey is English, I think Irondan is an American. Red Rick suffers all the symptoms of being a Dutchie (but I don't think he's part of the mob) :p
:D  guilty for being Dutch at least

Anyway, moderators dont just hand bans out by themselves. We discuss these things among each other before we act, and often there's at least one native english involved. Personally i think we're more than procificient enough in english to make these calls.

Many things are often a little up for interpretation obviously, but if your only excuse is that we dont understand the post as well as you do, then maybe you should realize that things can be often interpreted in a number of ways and not go so close to the line in the first place.

Also, Tonton is French, and I think I remember that peloton is Finnish (not finished, mind you). And those Finnish surely have some nuance in their language it seems.

Where do I apply for the Dutch mob though, I might need me some underworld affilliation sometimes

May I respectfully request that Pricey and/or Irondan are consulted before issuing any language-related bans, unless the case is very clear-cut?

They are, every time, even in not language related posts.

Decisions which don't appear clear cut are always decided as a team, obviously there are days when certain mods aren't available as we have jobs/things to do, however there are always enough mods around through the course of a day that we can make a team decision.

The Froome data thread is now a complete mess. It was specifically set up to discuss the data from the GSK testing facility but is now basically the Froome thread all over again. I think it would take me most of the morning to report all of the off-topic discussion that is still going on even after warnings and one poster getting a suspension. Any chance it could be cleaned up?

I'll clean it up when I get a chance.

There are some good (if off-topic for that thread) posts that should be kept in the Froome thread. Agree its not your job to sort it all out, but maybe instead of deleting them keep them for a while and let us suggest where they go?

Also what is TIA? I'm used to Ta for thanks, but what is TIA?

Why was my post in the Froome thread about the bunnies removed :(
#JusticeForTheBunnies
It was the 'Froome data' thread that you posted that comment in. I removed it because it was off topic.

Further up thread I had posted numerous warnings about posting off topic comments.
Oh sorry, I saw Hitch's post I had replied to was moved to the Froome talk only thread so I wondered why my post had disappeared :)

We've been told not to talk in Froome's clinic thread about him possibly having a motor. I don't understand the reasoning here. Of course our posts are our own opinions, and somewhat speculative. A lot of the doping talk in the clinic is also speculative, given that we don't have access to the latest prescription protocols of riders. We speculate based on what we do know from past leaks, investigations, and research into PEDs. We talk about what it looks like, what we think is going on, instead of just blindly buying whatever storyline Carlton Kirby or the various other commentators and "sports journalists" are selling.

I can see asking folks to keep the motor talk out of the PRR, since that area is supposed to be pristine, more for enjoying the spectacle (or fairy tale aspect) of sport, without looking at cheating, doping, corruption, and the darker side. But I don't see why motors should have to be kept out of a rider's specific clinic thread. We've talked about motors in the clinic for years, from Femke's bust, all the way back to the televised allegations about Fabian back when he still rode for Riis.

Respectfully, I think the Froome motor talk is valid for discussion. No, a person can't call it fact, but we ought to be able to say that it sure does look like it could be a motor.

I'll never understand why the people who just NEED to believe can't just stay out of the clinic. Crack down on doping talk in the PRR, fair enough. But leave room for joining dots and speculating in the clinic. That's what it's there for, isn't it?

You didn't read my post clearly. I'm simply using the forum rules to create a more readable thread environment. Some of the comments that I read were clearly figments of the imagination, which is not what the clinic is there to discuss. (That thread anyway) We are going to moderate those comments, as should have been done for a long time. Nobody is saying that you can't post an opinion.

If you read my comment, you would have seen that all I ask is to present links to back up assertions. That's been a clinic rule for a long time. Just because we can't keep up with every comment that breaks that rule doesn't mean that it's no longer valid.
