16th March 2011 i wrote about " Mosquera " and today i see that the 2011 Vuelta is about to be run with him sitting at home thanks to the gang at "UCI " and their lack of diligence in resolving the issues raised by their " Testing Regime "!

Of course it is someone else's fault that they sat on their **** for more than five months , ISN'T IT ? Pass the parcel is in effect once again !

Currently visiting the World Masters Cycling Federation which is untainted by the "U seless C harlies I ncorporated " !

The interminable wait that Ezequiel Mosquera has faced this season is unconscionable and he should either be banned or cleared to ride now.

Any news about when Mosquera will be coming back?

Sevilla was handed a 6 month ban starting in September, so I assume that Mosquera will be given the same time since he tested positive for the same substance and is the same federation doing the investigation.

In his case should be even better because he stopped racing long ago, so he could be back very soon. The bad news is that it is the off-season in the Pro-Tour.

Mission accomplished, more than a year after the fact. What a farce the process has become.

Not fair IMO

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/the-knives-were-out-for-me-claims-mosquera reports:

Mosquera’s lawyer, Ignacio Arroyo, confirmed a further blow for the rider when he revealed that his two-year ban is set to run from the date of its announcement last week and will not cover any of the 14 months that Mosquera has spent out of racing since his positive test was announced.

Doesn't seem right to add another two years on the 14 months he has already done.

Mosquera problem is he was trying to have it both ways - he said this earlier this year:

Vacansoleil had sidelined him, not the UCI or RFEC.
Mosquera didn't have a say and Vacansoleil likely sidelined him to be in good terms with the UCI and ASO. It's legal, but it's unfair.

Incredible. I can't believe it that the RFEC has actually found him GUILTY and has suspended him for the full 2 years, on top of the time he has already spent not racing. Who did this guy **** off?

Yeah hes getting screwed big time.

Surely they can appeal on the Valverde precedent who got time he was actually racing counted into the ban.

I'm all for anti-doping but can't agree with someone being treated like this. At the very least he should be credited for the time he's already served. That's normally something that is assured by accepting a formal provisional suspension - which you'd have thought would've occurred in this case - but even if it wasn't an official provisional suspension he should be credited w/ it in the name of fairness. These kind of decisions don't generate confidence in the fairness of the system and an athlete's ability to find impartial justice...lol :(

That doesn't mean that he couldn't still receive credit for the time-served. After all, it's effectively and functionally the same thing - Mosquera not racing owing to this situation.

The arbitrariness of it all is what really bothers me.

RFEC using a rider to say look at us we are hard on doping and dopers, while letting Contador go about his daily business.

This is standard practice in cycling, UCI released the Clen result of Fuyu Li's positive A sample to the media before he knew and had a chance to request his B sample be tested. Contador got a month and it might never have been released except for a leak.
