nothing revolutionary, but generally the best glasses shape ever.
Pro-M Frame with Gen 1 Hybrid profile lenses. I have a pair exactly like that in mint condition.

Nowadays the elaborate colors all run together. I think a Radar in matte black with black iridium lenses would look good in the modern rainbow peloton.

No no!

I'm Tyler Farrar, sprinter of team Garmin Transitions.

Eurosport has burned it in my mind.

The '96 Tour de France was memorable for many things, not all of them good of course. Abdou was riding for Refin that year and it was to be his last complete Tour because the following year he got a ban for our old friend clenbuterol. Abdou spectacularly won alone on what was essentially a mountain stage. ;)

Here's the original CN report of Stage 14 which is, I think, probably what you're seeing in the picture there.
Wow. I remember watching that Tour from start to finish (granted, I was 15 at the time) and I'd completely forgotten about that stage. Riis on the short stage to Hautacam or Ullrich to Andorra though, well, we can never forget those one ;)

Agree they are so hideous, and had to see so much of them this tour.
