So polls still don't work?
Cancellara v Boonen was good but they're past it.
Kittel-Cavendish isn't a rivalry, Kittel is the best flat sprinter now, Cavendish used to be.
Degenkolb v Kristoff is only just getting started. But unless there is some mano a mano, it's just not that exciting.

Contador v Froome it is.

Road cycling isn't really a sport for rivalries. Boonen vs Cancellara had a few great fights, but in the last few years one of them managed to crash out each time. Degenkolb and Kristoff have only really crossed paths in MSR, and sprinters never have a 2man rivalry.

Contador vs Froome is by far the closest thing, but they'll probably never cross paths in the same GT at 100%

1. Kristoff-Degenkolb is not a rivalry
2. Boonen-Cancellara in the 2007-2010 days was great, but lately their paths haven't crossed much partly because of injuries and partly because Boonen hasn't had the same level as Cancellara.
3. Contador-Froome: Best current rivalry. A shame Froome isn't riding the Giro, so we could see it unfold on the slopes of Colle delle Finestre. Both characters also seems to have great respect for each other.
4. Kittel-Cav. Didn't fight each other much last year, but has the potential to be great.

Contador - Froome by a mile. That's mostly though because a head to head rivalry plays out much better over stage races and on climbs.

Boonen - Cancellara was good, but both are past their best now. Kittel - Cavandish isn't much of a rivalry, because Kittel is way faster. Degenkolb-Kristoff is also a bit of a rubbish rivalry, because both of them only go head to head for about 10 seconds in a race, if at all.

Rodriguez vs. Valverde happenned more often than most of those in the polls last year, with various level of hilarity. And I guess it's yet to stop. Throw Contador into the mix like in that 2014 Vuelta stage, it gets even crazier.
