Some decent entertainment...

Black Bag.
.star studded cast..spy thriller sort..Cate Blanchett and Michael Fasbender..good overall
The Last Showgirl.
Just what it sounds like, Pam Anderson plays a show girl w a laundry list of problems, Las Vegas show she has been in for years is cancelled, when she looks for other gigs she is older than all auditioning dancers, some people ask her how old she is, and her estranged daughter comes around as she is losing her job.. Not very upbeat but a decent movie.

Cause Affleck and Lawrence Fishburn..tired plot.. Guy has to go into hibernation chamber for space travel, he has memory and flashback issues, trouble telling reality from dreams.. Pretty good..
Holland
Nicole Kidman plays mild mannered housewife from Holland Michigan. Movie has decent plot,all good actors and has multiple times when you feel other movies like Blue Velvet and some of the soundtrack feels exactly like Body Heat from 1981!! Starring Kathleen Turner, William Hurt and Mickey Rouke..and lots of the scenes in the film look to be taken directly from the 2 older films..entertaining..

My favourite Kilmer performances were in Tombstone, Thunderheart and The Doors. Tombstone was an obvious classic and Thundeheart was very underrated.

The Batman (2022) three hours long but not boring. Good performance by Robert Pattinson with a different take on the lead role to Christian Bale. One of the better Batman movies but not as fast paced as the Bale movies. Also well acted by a good cast.

After Earth (2013) maybe should have been titled Wake Me Up When It's Over ! Another pedestrian M. Night. Shyamalan movie with terrible dialogue and performances . Just a dull Sci Fi movie. Shyamalan peaked with his first movie in the 90's with The Sixth Sense and never approached that standard again. Signs was probably his second best movie. A Will Smith vanity project that never rose above the mediocre.

Knock At The Cabin (2023) mid range movie from M. Night. Shyamalan. Not bad overall. The main idea in the movie will either irritate you or intrigue you. The acting was hit and miss.

No Time To Die (2021) pretty typical James Bond movie but not one of the better ones. Watchable with some good action scenes.

You'll Never Find Me (2023) slow burn Australian thriller. Very dialogue heavy with really only two characters in the entire movie. Maybe the ending didn't meet the standard of the rest of the movie and it was open to interpretation. Worth seeing if you don't mind slow movies. For the first time co-directors it was a good effort, especially the sound design which was very effective.. The two performances were also very good.

Dune : Part Two (2024) Visually good, the three hour run time didn't drag too much. Watchable and entertaining enough but not something I would rewatch. Not too bad but not one of my favourite Villeneuve movies.

I highly recommend watching Presence. Very interesting, not sure all were evident on my first time. Lucy Lui plays mom with mentally damaged daughter after her teenage friend dies. It's a very subtle haunted house movie. Camera work is different than I have seen before.
The actual interior of the house is rather interesting.

Master Gardener (2023) A movie that started out in one direction then veered off into darker territory halfway through. Not a bad drama and well acted by by Joel Edgerton and Sigourney Weaver.

The Passenger (2023) well acted drama. Dark and sometimes unpredictable. Good film but may be too bleak for some. Two troubled young men and the choices they make.

The Sisters Brothers(2018) an offbeat western starring Joaquin Phoenix, John C.Reilly, Riz Ahmed and Jake Gyllenhaal. Very well acted with some great visuals. About two guns for hire that are supposed to do a routine job that turns into something more unpredictable. Worth watching.

Sicario (2015) One of Dennis Villeneuve's best movies. A bleak story about how governments are losing the battle against the drug cartels and corruption. The sound design and cinematography are top notch and Benicio del Toro steals every scene he is in.

Midsommar (2019) an unsettling horror/drama about some college students that travel to Sweden and become involved with a cult. A little on the long side but the final 40 minutes made it worthwhile. Some dark humour and impeccably made with a nice performance from Florence Pugh. Not your typical horror movie and all the better for it.

Smile 2 (2024) one for the horror fans. Great performance from Naomi Scott. Longer and flashier than the original but not quite as good. Not bad overall.

Anatomy Of A Murder (1959) one of the great courtroom dramas. Well directed by Otto Preminger and superbly acted by James Stewart, George C Scott, Lee Remick and Ben Gazzara. Nice soundtrack by Duke Ellington as well. A lengthy movie but never dull.

bunch of sub par actors meet in classes, police recruit them to buy bootleg cigarettes, how hard can it be to play the role of somebody buying cigarettes, turns out it can be really hard
The Ballad of Wallis Island 2025
What happens when a nerd loner wins the lottery and can do whatever he wants..
Goodrich 2024
A husband and father who doesn't pay much attention, comes home, gets a call that drug addicted wife, something he didn't notice, will be in rehabilitation for 90+ days, he needs to step up and care for house, kids, life,ect.
A semi repeat character for Michael Keaton, Who starred in funny, Mr. Mom in 1983.. Bumbling around trying to do domestic stuff.

3 or 4 Hollywood heavy character actors.. Some with careers that started in 1940s, early 50s, in too many shows and movies to count. This movie has some cool surprises..

It’s been awhile since I did my last review but Happy Gilmore 2 was definitely worth the watch. One of Sandler’s better more recent movies and had multiple good laughs. It wasn’t anything more than it tried to be and a great movie to just sit down and unwind. Way better than the astronaut with the spider movie he did a couple years ago.

Final Destination Bloodlines (2025) for fans of the franchise, one of the better installments. Entertaining horror movie that gives the fans the usual fare with a few tweaks to the formula..

Mostly bad news but some bright spots.

Weapons 2025

This movie is really bad, bunch of great actors, can't tell if the director is terrible because the story he is trying to tell is so poorly written doesn't look like he has a chance. Elementary school.. Class of 18..17 of the kids walk out of their houses in a trance never to be seen again. Of course obvious stuff like why one kid left behind.. What does the teacher have to do with it..

Honey Don't 2025

This movie is really bad, bunch of great actors, everything is terrible.. And as if someone couldn't be worse, Aubrey Plaza, Parks and Rec, Dirty Grandpa plays a kidnapping murderer.. It's bad

Highest 2 Lowest 2025

A Spike Lee movie in NYC, about hip hop music mogul played ( overplayed) by Denzel Washington.. The movie is terrible, direction is terrible, acting is terrible, just terrible.

The Naked Gun 2025

It's what it was before, some funny moments, actors are all good but lines and pratfalls are a little stale. It tries hard but I think Leslie Neilson used up good deliveries in first Naked Gun movies.

Nobody 2 2025..

Better Call Saul as a recovering, retired secret agent who never misses with a gun, doesn't ever lose a fight, always has a better plan than the bad guys..movie is boring, boring boring despite stuff blowing up or being shot at every couple of minutes.

Eenie Meanie 2025

Another movie about get away driver specialist, this time played by similar looking hot blonde Australian actress\ model Samara Weaving..movie starts dumb and stays that way until closing credits.

F1 The Movie 2025

Imagine Talladega Nights but it wasn't funny, driving sequences were terrible, the script had that old argument between the old timer and the new hotshot.. Brad Pitt is the grey haired great driver, the movie is really just about seeing how many different angles that they can shoot to establish Pitt's natural beauty.. He is really good looking, had I seen this in a movie theater for @$16-17 I would have vandalized the seat , intentionally spilled my popcorn and soda on the upholstered seats to the left and right of me and asked for a refund and still feel ripped off.

Eddington 2025

Movie has all the current best, super sharp subject matter, non standard Hollywood backdrop, good director, bad movie.

Night Always Comes 2025

Has a bunch of things that feel like Live and Die in LA but much more raw and gritty. Good movie Things go really bad for the girl from early on and she just keeps getting over one obstacle after another.

Friendship 2024

Starring Paul Rudd..and nothing is the same despite everything being the same. Rudd plays a TV news guy..this time not funny... Anchorman reverse.
Rudd plays a guy that befriends another guy like I Love You Man.. not the happy ending like that movie.
Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell were in The Shrink Next Door..2021..They have a growing friendship that goes sour really bad.. Friendship has some similar stuff very different ending....decent movie

Walkabout 1971

Starring Jenny Agutter..her career is too long to catalog but she was the nurse in American Werewolf in London and did a few hundred episodes of Call the Midwife.
This movie takes place in Australia. Successful architecture father takes his 2 kids with the worst possible intentions, murder suicide. He fails at murder part and 2 kids bounce around the outback and survive.
Director does something controversial.. Jenny Agutter is 19 or 20 years old at the time of the film, but her character is a school girl and it sort of appears that she is not an adult and she does a nude swimming scene.. Wholesome by modern standards, but it was1971.

Starring Matthew McConaughey..character we all know, guy is down on his luck, low on cash, going through a divorce, kids are angry. He works as a bus driver in Butte County, near Paradise California wild fire location. Based on actual events, pretty good movie. Feels like something from 1970,80s..
