Mr X Revealed

Well I was expecting something a bit more spectacular (a pro rider! That would have been interesting), but this'll do. I was also expecting a lot more than insulin shots, maybe that kind of info is in the full article though (someone please buy the magazine, it has naked ladies).

What's interesting is that this guy didn't go to Interviú looking for money and fame. Allegedly they had access to the CAS proceeding record.

It's also interesting that Contador only started doping in 2005 according to this source. I always assumed he was at it from his Iberdrola days, what with it being Manolo's feeder team.

Do you mean they had access to his identity? Anyone can access the CAS report from their website - this is where MR X first appeared (apologies if this has been discussed here already - haven't visited in a while ;))

I don't mean they had access to the public CAS ruling, but to the actual record of proceeding, i.e. the whole enchilada, every piece of info the parties had access to.

I think this simply reveals what everyone suspects, im still going to cheer for him though but his DS s have been Manolol Saiz - Bruyneel - Martinelli - Riis....hardly evidence of clenliness in any way

Doesn't do the credibility of the article much good by the cycling mag serving soft "pron"/ dating ads in it's sidebar - does it?
It's not a cycling magazine, and those aren't ads but part of the content. It's similar to Playboy, but with more emphasis on the articles and much less pr0n.

Says he is scared for his life and that of his family...

Also funny to read some of the comments, like "stick with showing naked chicks and leave cycling alone" :D

Well he was the only one who could follow Rasmussen in 2007, so I think we had some kind of 'positive' confirmation he was on the juice then.

If what Mr X says is true, it's surprising that he only started in 2005, or 2 years before that particular TdF.

In 2005, he was (only) 22/23 (born December 1982).

Did he say anything about it being systemic/team wide, or was it individual?

According to de wielersite, these were his team mates:

I haven't read the full article, but the blurb says Fuentes was their acting doctor at the time (without being the official team doctor, of course). Considering that and the Puerto evidence, I'd say it was team wide.

Haven't read the full article, but the blurb includes this quote by the witness:

"Contador received insulin shots during the 2005 Tour de France. Eufemiano Fuentes was the de facto team doctor, and insulin [...] was part of the program for everybody"

So does the article say he started doping in 2005? Or just that he was doping at that time?
It only says he doped at the 2005 Tour, not a word about his doping before or after. Without reading the full article it's impossible to know.

Did you see Jesus was in that team? That immediately makes the team more awesome.
Did you know Jesús said in court that he got heat patches (believed to be testosterone patches) at Liberty, but naturally the Spanish fed did nothing about it. :)

This is something I've always been curious about, but never seen discussed in the context of his doping allegations: how do these various drugs interact with his anti-seizure and other medications? Has this been discussed somewhere? I'm not a doping afficianado so I could have missed it.

Florecita, if you have no reasonable arguments to make, then stay out of the thread.

Insulting everyone who says anything negative about your favourite rider is not the way to go. And will eventually lead to sanctions for you.

And yes, you may consider this a warning.

Susan

Jesus christ it was a joke. A JOKE.

You can ban me if it's not even allowed to joke around anymore. Jesus. Thank god there is another forum where joking is allowed.

No it hasn't been discussed but it makes me wonder.

I just started reading it more in depth:

“A Contador se le administraron inyecciones de insulina durante el Tour de Francia de 2005. Eufemiano Fuentes era de facto el médico del equipo y la insulina [un producto prohibido en el deporte y que aumenta el rendimiento] formaba parte del tratamiento para todos

So the eyewitness saw it, at least once involving Contador, specifically during the TdF of 2005, although he also admits it was 'parte del tratamiento para todos' (everyone on the 2005 TdF team underwent that treatment)

Eufemiano Fuentes [el médico acusado de dopar a ciclistas como Roberto Heras, Beloki, Ivan Basso y Jan Ulrich, entre otros] era de facto el médico del equipo. Y la insulina formaba parte del plan de tratamiento para todos

Fuentes [the doctor accused of having doped cyclists including Heras, Beloki, Basso and Ulrich] was 'de facto' team doctor. Insulin was part of the '(treatment) program' for all.

The lawyers of Contador responded:

Niega las acusaciones del testigo sin nombre de que estuviera implicado en un plan de dopaje o de que se pusiera inyecciones de insulina… El Tribunal se habrá percatado de que el testigo se refiere al infame doctor Fuentes, protagonista de la ‘operación Puerto’. El acusado ya fue objeto de una investigación exhaustiva en 2006 y en agosto de aquel año fue exonerado por los tribunales españoles y por la Unión Ciclista Internacional de cualquier vinculación

He [Contador] denies the accusations made by the nameless witness, that he [Contador] was involved in a doping program, or that he took insulin shots. The Tribunal should take notice that the witness refers to infamous doctor Fuentes, key player in "operacion puerto." The accused [Contador] had already been subject to an exhaustive investigation in 2006 and in august of that year he was cleared by the Spanish tribunals and the UCI of any links.

Basically arguing that, because Spain/UCI had cleared him of any connections with Fuentes, Fuentes could not have provided him with, or instructed him to use insulin during the 2005 TdF...

So it's his position that Spanish and UCI investigations are infallible
