Wow, we touch a few bases here.

My taste has changed and evolved rather dramatically in the last six years, since my discovery of Joe Bonamassa led me to loads of other great stuff that's mainly 'blues rock'.

Way back when, though, I was very much into Gram and Emmylou, I had a crush on her for years. I still think that 'Return of the Grievous Angel' is one of the most important albums in the evolution of American music since the 60's. I was into Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young, The Ozarks, but never really into true bluegrass. I used to listen to Buckwheat Zydeco a lot too. Reggae, lots of reggae. Like I said, way back when.

His music still lives on. You still see tributes to him with bands playing his music in pubs over here. Still hugely popular.

I sometimes go over to see his grave(which isn't too far from away)anytime I'm out there visiting my own family ones.

Los Mirlos - while Tropicália in Brazil was an intellectual movement that blended the local music with the artists' fascination for European and American pop, rock and psychedelia with often experimental results, Peruvian Chicha music saw elements of surf guitar and rock instrumentation blended with the traditional cumbia of the area, with some pretty interesting results. I love the guitar melody in this one.
