Man, more sad news. Seemed he was constantly touring
and gigging so we were fortunate to have a number of
opportunities to see him live.

I also did see Nash the Slash (mentioned upthread by
RetroActive) once, but somewhat worryingly, I cannot
remember exactly when or where :confused:.

I see by my Rock and Roll calendar that today (July18)
is the day Nico passed away in 1988 after having some
sort of medical incident while riding her bike. I saw her
once circa '79-'80, in NYC at CBGB's. There was a very
small crowd (I think she was playing two shows that
night, and I was at the early performance) so it was
easy to get a spot right up front. I was so captivated
by her that it wasn't until after the first set was over
and the guy next to me got up and went to chat to
Nico that I realized I was sitting beside David Bowie.

With the right band around them and a bit of good vocal backing I hope some more years. Fan of Guy but I can handle Clapton as well.

Another nice story. Reed, Nico, Warhol, Bowie, Iggy etc. no wonder some fell by the wayside early.

Johny Winter And is one of my favorite LPs. :(

I'm currently listening to a different set of LPs: Leonard Bernstein and the Metropolitan Opera performing Carmen. Just got to "Habanera." Wow Marilyn Horne! :eek:

saw him acoustic then a few months later with full Dinosaurjr as he was coming out to Australia every southern hemisphere summer (yes, 6mnths not season)

It was eighties day on the radio today (08/08...get it?) and they played Alice Cooper with "Poison"... I had completely forgotten about that song, so it was a nice surprise :)
