Thought Fishbone had some great songs but found their discs pretty inconsistent. I like The Reality of My Surroundings the best. I think they would have been a great band on stage.

Fishbone were best on stage though I only caught half a show (maybe) before I wound up getting a lift home from the cops (nothing dramatic, the cops were being good Samaritans). What I remember of it was pretty amazing. Charisma and energy oozing.

Any AC/DC fans here? What do you think about Axle as their frontman now? It doesn't feel right to me.

I saw GnR three times in the late '80s. One time under Motley Crew (pretty good, but Crew blew them away), one time on a slit bill with Skid Row (SR kicked their ars), and once at a Festival (Axle sucked).
Am a fan of both AC/DC and early GnR, don't think it's too bad, actually. The guitar is still there...

(Will not pay to see the show [or any other, for that matter, seeing as I'm too cheap], so am not all that invested, mind.)

Huge Stone Roses fan here.

After five years of talk, they have now finally released some new music, in the form of a single, All For One (youtube link).

It's all very meh, probably mostly because of what they were. I guess if they had been any other modern band, without such a legacy, it would've been decent. It's not surprising at all though, as my expectations were on a very realistic level. I have this slight feeling of 'they shouldn't have bothered'.

The song sounds like John Squire's band The Seahorses meets Ian Brown's solo career, with the latter's knack for silly lyrics.

But I mean, if you ever made something like this, everything you ever do later will be a disappointment.

In my opinion the best music of the 20th/21st century are here. Few pop bands can match that in terms of richness and variety. Though sometimes I'm biased because I loved the film. Sometimes the music saves the film on the other hand. :)
