It's quite sad when a (radio) DJ of your youth/musical formative years dies and that's the case with Andy Kershaw today.


He was a bit of a protege of John Peel. There was a fair bit of musical overlap between them, but he leant more towards African/Reggae etc/Blues and plain weird stuff like Ivor Cutler. I also remember him doing travel programmes about trips to places like North Korea - it's probably up on Youtube.

Here's a couple of sessions from shows he did. The first I remember taping and the second is just a random selection.

I am unfamiliar, I listened and it was an 80s, 90s time machine, a cleaner produced Sisters of Mercy or TSOL type vocal.. I looked it up and its a newer recording! Brilliant.. Added it for travel tunes, 10 songs on album.. This gives you New Order, Cure with some edge.
