If the Jets are tanking for Arch Manning, they may want to re-think. Most people now expect him to start for 2 years at Texas, even if he wins the Heisman and National Championship. The 2026 season is the year to tank for Arch. Maybe Glenn can convince Rodgers to play through 2026? That way they can maybe go 0-17.

WTF is that with the Giants? Going all on on Darnold? If the Viks give him up? What happened to them being all-in on Shedeur Sanders? The Titans take Cam Ward (or Hunter), the Browns take Hunter (or Ward, or Carter), and Shedeur falls in their lap - a team he wants to play for even. Unless the Titans take Shedeur, and Browns take Ward? Is that what they fear? Zero chance Deion lets the Browns take Shedeur. None. I imagine he's already called Andrew Barry and Kevin Stefanski flat out said forget it. Shedeur just seems destined to go to the Giants. I'm iffy on Shedeur, but in the Giants situation, he seems worth the risk to at least try.

No question that Jones, Lock, Devito and Boyle are all failed starters. Now career back-ups. Devito and Boyle seem to realize this at least.

I'm still hoping the Raiders give Zach Wilson a shot. Two other wildcard, roll the dice, QBs on teams now I'd like to see maybe get a shot are Hendon Hooker, and Tyson Bagent. Hooker was extremely talented in college. And Bagent was a Div II sensation who threw for crazy yards and completion %, he reminds me of Brock Purdy.
Daboll survived another season at the Giants. Quite amazing...........

One of Dan Pat's sidekicks said something about Fields going to LV.
, is it still true that it takes time to settle in, to get in the groove of the organization, the offensive style and coaching schemes? Las Vegas may just be getting into another rebuilding, learning curve if Fields takes a year or 2 to come around.. If ever.
. But if I am choosing between Zach Wilson and anyone else, I am picking anyone else.. And Jets sounding more comfortable with the devil you know
I also don't know the numbers but from my experience, Jets and Giants fill stadium regardless of teams record or talent. And just guessing that Las Vegas is a super popular ticket ..

Hendon Hooker needs to be playing somewhere & not sitting the bench behind Goff. He played in a total of 3 games this past season throwing a grand total of 9 passes (mop up situations I would guess).

This is ridiculous - Hooker was projected as a 1st rounder before he tore his ACL. You're spot on that he was extremely talented at Tennessee running Josh Huepal's spread RPO offense. He completed near 70% of his passes, 3100 yds, 27 TDs/2 INTs & added another 430 yds rushing in a 9 win season his senior year. He was First Team All-SEC & the SEC Offensive POY. He has a strong arm with good accuracy & Jayden Daniels type speed & mobility.

Same with Zach Wilson (btw, good article you linked from The Atlantic). It's so stupid that it's not even funny that he sat the bench as the Bronco's 3rd QB seeing absolutely zero action. Lol. This kid needs to be playing somewhere. That kind of arm talent doesn't come around very often. There has to be some QB coach & coordinator out there that can work with him & get him the offensive scheme that he feels comfortable in. The Jets were idiots to release him that soon. In Wilson's last season with the Jets they went 7-10. This past season with the Great Aaron Rodgers they go 5-12. Man, that's a real improvement over Wilson's season! LOL. It's a perpetual clown show with the Jets.

Unbelievable - it must be a really a bad hip injury to keep Rapp out of the biggest game of his career (from "day to day" to now out). The Bills are replacing him with the rookie Cole Bishop, their 2nd rd pick this year.

Can you imagine the nerves this young man is going to feel having to cover Kelce & make tackles on Pacheco & Hunt in the hostile environment of Arrowhead. He's going to have to grow up in a hurry.

I can't possibly see Fields going to Vegas. I doubt they will pursue Russ, though he would come dirt cheap. I think the Raiders will either see who falls in day 2 in the draft at QB, or seek to trade for one of the guys I mentioned.

I follow the Raiders and you guys wouldn't believe the absurd rumors that beat writers come up with. I've heard:
  • Raiders about to sign Ben Johnson (ooops. Turns out, he was never that interested, and almost always had the Bears at the top of his list).
  • Raiders about to sign Liam Coen (oops, the same time they inked Pete Caroll, Coen went to the Jags).
  • Jon Gruden is not out of the running to be HC again (was never even interviewed).
  • Raiders likely to hire Todd Monken as next HC (only went though one interview).
  • Raiders were looking at hiring Carroll all along, and this is a great coach for them now (might be true. He did visit the facility early on, and spent a lot of time there).
  • Raiders made a big mistake in hiring Carroll, and are stuck with them after wanting anyone else (I guess we'll find out in the next couple seasons).
  • Raiders will trade 1st round, two 2nd round picks, plus Michael Mayer, plus Gardner Minshew to the Titans to get Shedeur Sanders.
  • Raiders will sign Sam Darnold to a multi-year deal. The goal is to win now.
  • Raiders aren't focused on a QB this off-season, will build for the long run.
  • Raiders will sign Russell Wilson.
  • Wilson wanted out of Seattle because of Pete (Wilson has since insisted this was never true).
  • Raiders will sign Justin Fields.
  • Maxx Crosby wants to be traded.
  • Maxx Crosby wants to play TE for the Raiders some next year (after all, that kid Bowers looks like he doesn't have it, right?)
There's probably 10 more I've read on various Raiders news feeds reporters and scribes. It's just laughably absurd what some journos make up, often citing "anonymous sources".

pretty obvious that he is the biggest problem for Washington, have to stop the big plays, the Rams couldn't manage it
It's pretty simple for Wash: Stop Barkley & force some turnovers. You can't have him run wild for 205 on a near 8 yd average like he did against the Rams. Granted, 140 of those yards were on two long scoring runs, but he never fumbled & picked up some key 1st downs on 3rd & short throughout the game.

Maybe put a spy on him or something. Bring up the safeties closer in with the LBs. They must stop the Philly run game & force Hurts to throw. Like Alpe alluded to - Hurts is not throwing the ball well. In two playoffs games, he's only thrown 41 times for less than 250 yds.

So, I think if Wash can stop - or at least contain- the Eagle's run game & Daniels gets rolling with his RPO game, the Commanders can punch their ticket to the SB.

Rapp been playing much better football at the Bills than he used to for the Rams. That's a blow for the Bills but at this stage of the season most teams have injuries. Hurts hasn't looked 100 % either for the Eagles and couldn't practice earlier in the week.. If the Bills can play a similar game to their earlier win over the Chiefs, they have a good shot.

I have a good feeling Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt will have a plan for Barkley. If it works with the Eagles OL, we'll soon find out. My guess is they will press the receivers, and stuff the middle of the field and line to try to stop Barkley. Whitt has said they expect Hurts to run a lot, and they will treat him like a runner.

I really like the Commanders chances in this game, unless they get too far behind late.

The other game is up in the air to me. I suppose if you look at both teams play this season, and in the playoffs, and the previous game, one would favor the Bills. But this is in KC, and McDermott has a monkey on his back and history of losing big playoff games.

If they're not going to pursue Fields, the Raiders need to find a top QB or the "Great Pete Carroll" will fail. I'm laughing at all this excitement & euphoria by the media with the hiring of Carroll as if he's the answer & is going to lead the Raiders to the promised land. He won't without a top QB.

He won & was successful at Seattle because of Russell Wilson...period. His first two years there without Wilson drafted yet (Hasselbeck & T. Jackson) were back to back 7-9 campaigns with one postseason appearance losing in that WC round (one & done).

In comes Wilson & the Seahawks have 10 consecutive winning seasons, 9 postseasons, 4 division titles & one SB title! Carroll's playoff record during this time was a respectable 9-7. Only in the last season that Wilson played (2021), did Seattle take a nose dive with a losing season & no postseason (that was the year Wilson had some injuries to deal with missing some games).

The last two years (2022/23) he coached at Seattle with Wilson gone & Geno Smith at the helm, he had back to back 9-8 seasons with one postseason appearance which was a one & done.

It's clear the Raiders problem is at QB. That rag tag bunch they have on the current depth chart haven't been able to get it done & they all appear to be better suited as career backups.

Pursuing Zach Wilson might be their best option for an immediate impact. As I mentioned, he should playing somewhere & given one more chance, IMO. We're talking a rare arm talent here & #2 OA pick. If they don't pursue Wilson, they would have to trade the house away to move up in the draft & get one of the two can't miss guys in this upcoming draft; Sanders & Ward (I have Sanders over Ward as the top QB).

And who's going to fall in day #2? I don't think there's anyone that falls to day#2 but more like the 3rd round & beyond. This is a very bad QB class. You have two franchise guys in Sanders & Ward with a big dropoff involving the other guys (too many names to mention. Lol).

Let's face it, you need a top 1st rd QB to give a better chance of turning a team around making them winners & consequently making the coach look good. The 4 teams left in the playoffs all have high 1st rd drafted QBs except one - Hurts. Mahomes (#10 OA), Allen (#7 OA) & Daniels (#2 OA). Though not selected in the 1st Rd, Hurts was taken in the mid-2nd round. And Bo Nix was taken #12 OA & Stroud taken #2 OA in the 2023 draft - two guys that quickly turned the team around.

I know someone is going to say "what about Brock Purdy...he was a 7th rounder." Purdy is an outlier & probably should have been drafted much higher. But still too early to tell in all honesty. Granted, he had the phenomenal SB year but this past season he didn't look so good & the 9ers sank to a rare losing season & no postseason. If this was more the norm than exception with low round picks, you'd see more of them succeed as starters in the league. But you can't even get 2nd & 3rd rounders to make it big in the league - go look at the long list of failures over the last several years. Lol.

Yeah Wilson was was the bane of 49ers fans existences but they also had the Legion of Boom who were also very effective for many seasons.

49ers and Shanahan see Purdy as the future of the franchise and his new contract should indicate that. This season was a mess for the 49ers from injuries to family tragedies and also their number one draft pick getting shot ! Purdy hit the ground running in his first season, then even better last season but this year without his weapons and with a low rated O line and defense it all come apart. The squad needs some new blood and a good draft to get back on track and hope their injured stars like CMC, Williams and Aiyuk can give them the production they are used to making. Age is starting to catch up with Williams re the regular injuries while Aiyuk might be the biggest question mark as his ACL injury was worse than the standard type. The long time off for CMC can only help him as well but they always manage to find good RB's unlike past WR picks. They also expect Ricky Pearsall to be much better next season after looking good late in the season. Kittle had a great season but Deebo was up and down and needs a better season.

Russel Wilson was drafted in the third round.

Hall of fame QB's and when they were drafted. It's a bit dated.
2nd rounders, such as Brees, Favre, Esiason, Hurts, etc, were drafted as franchise QBs. And there's not much difference between a high 2nd rounder & a low 1st rounder. 3rd rounders can go either way --- a franchise QB or a career backup. The lower rounds are always QBs drafted as backups. Of course, there will be outliers now & then like Brady & possibly Purdy. But the vast majority of your Hall of Famers & SB winning QBs come from the 1st round and a select few from the 2nd round.

Yes, I'm aware of that. However, his short stature (5'11") is what dropped him to the 3rd round. Draft experts have said if Wilson was 2-3 inches taller, he would have gone in the 1st rd as the 3rd QB on the board behind Luck (6'4") & RG III (6'2").

Height is big factor for an NFL QB. I think the average height for the top 15 all-time best QBs is something like 6'3." They need the height to see over the monstrous lineman who all seem to be over 6'3" these days.

The NFL has been around for decades spanning 2 centuries & only a handful of guys 6 ft & under have made it big:
