The Chiefs have been terrible rushing the ball this year with Mahomes having almost as much yards as Pacheco and Hunt. Mahomes has also lead the team in rushing in multiple games.
For one Pacheco is hurt again having missed the Bills game (MCL - Reid says he should be ready for the Bronco game in 2 weeks). And he doesn't seem to be the same after breakins his leg last year, IMO. Their main rotator & #2 guy, Hunt, doesn't seem to running as well either, and at 30 (old for an NFL RB), he's limited on the number of snaps he can play.

The Chiefs drafted Brashard Smith in the 7th rd, a lightweight (194 lbs) but speedy (4.39) back who has good pass catching skills. He made the 53 & earned a rotation spot as RB #3. But he has not been getting many snaps - only 12 in the game against the Bills. And he's only averaging 7.7 snaps per game anyway. He's shown some promise catching the ball but nothing really impressive running the ball. Then there's Mitchell, who they acquired from the 49ers during the off-season. He missed all of last year with a major hamstring injury & has not played a single down with the Chiefs yet! (he's not on IR or PS - strange?). Doesn't sound like a good acquisition at this point. Lol (maybe movingtarget knows what the deal is with this guy?).

Things are so bad with the Chiefs RB situation, that they signed Clyde Edwards-Helaire to the practice squad who was their 1st rd bust back in 2020. He got cut by the Saints last year & looked to be done with the NFL until the Chiefs signed him.

Mitchell had a great first year as a rookie with the 49ers when their regular RB went down. I think at that time it was Mostert. He even played through injury but he paid for it ever since and became injury prone. Shanahan kept him around as a back up after CMC arrived but he hardly played. Finally they let him go as the 49ers drafted rookie RB's . I actually thought he would be a decent back up at the Chiefs but it seems the injuries have continued. Not sure if another team will sign him now, maybe for vet minimum if they were desperate., The last significant play he made is when he came on on for one carry against the Lions in the 2023 NFC title game and scored a TD from a few yards out. Since then it's been crickets............

Tonight's game depends on which Raiders team shows up, but I'll take Denver either way. It could be one of those 23-6 games where the Raiders don't move the ball, and Geno tosses up a few picks on forced bad throws. Or it could be closer to 20-16, with a lot of defensive stops.

I do hope the Raiders show up & make a game out of it. I don't want to see a blowout by the Broncos where the game is already won by the 3rd Qtr & fans tune out. That being said, the Broncos should win - they're a much better team than the Raiders - but this is TNF where strange things can happen. Lol.

Murray was going to be benched anyway in favor of Brissett, so this makes sense in stead of tying up a roster spot with an injured player (Jeff Driskel signed to the roster as either the backup or QB3). Depending on how well Brissett performs, there will be some hard questions asked at end of the season as to Murray's future with the team.

Wow, that hit he took in the Broncos game is worse than we thought. That leaves Mills to start against the Jaguars in a key divisional game. I think if they lose this game, they will have lost too much ground to make up to have any legitimate shot at winning the division (I think the Jags & Colts will fight it out). Also, with a loss, they go 3-6 & their playoff hopes become more unlikely.

The Texans are basically imploding right before our eyes - a far cry from this team's success the last two seasons.

What an absolute joke the Raiders are! Had the Broncos in the perfect "trap" game & can't even beat them. The Broncos look lethargic & Nix arguably played his worst game of the season. FFS, the Broncos were trying to give the game to the Raiders. Lol.

Geno Smith looked pathetic out there (WTH didn't Carroll bench him?). And Jeanty is not living up to a #6 OA drafted RB (it looks like now he was waaay overrated). And they're paying that bum Carlson $4.6m a year to miss chip-shot FGs? Lol.

Clearly "Petey" Carroll was a bad hire. He's nothing but a clown out there masquerading as a NFL head coach. Lol. It must be painful for the diehard Raider fans to watch that kind of slop out there.

Ugly messy game. Little to no offense from either team, especially Raiders. And they could have still won. I started watching the condensed game as I only saw some of the first half. Couldn't make it through. Ended up watching the highlights. More like low lights.

Believe it or not, the Raiders looked better here than they did a few weeks ago in some losses. Raiders problem isn't Jeanty. It's their offensive line. Probably the worst in the NFL. And their only good player on the line is on IR (Kolton Miller).

Raiders had their moments for sure. Elder statesman, Geno Smith went on a sidelines lecture tour about missed assignments. Screaming, berating teammates about missed assignments. Turns out Smith was right, game still winnable for Raiders. Never seen kickers so incompetent and overworked.
Geno had a couple of perfect throws that were dropped but he also had the touch of a rocket launcher throwing behind receivers and drilling them.

Just watched the highlights of the previous Raiders game. No way they should have lost that game. Bowers had a great game.
You're being facetious, right? He had one catch for 32 yards. Though watching what I could stomach of the game he looked like he was open all the time. Maybe that's what Geno was mad about?!

It does make you wonder what Pete Carroll was thinking that entire year he was off from football? What was his plan other than sign a handful of washed up Seahawks (Smith, Stone "Feet" Forsyth, McClenton Curtis, Jamal Adams, now Tyler Lockett)? only Adams has been good, converting to linebacker in a backup role. The only thing left Pete can do, and somewhat is doing, is change the culture. If he can even do it with the slew of bad to really bad players the Raiders have. Accepting they need to rebuild from the bottom up might be a start.

Meanwhile, I'm not convinced Denver is going anywhere, despite being 8-2. They easily could be 5-5, and look like as soon as they face a good team who can put at least a few points up them, they'll need real luck to win. I'm calling it right now, a rested, prepared Chiefs team takes them out next week. Sports illustrated nails it here:

Can't totally disagree with that article nor your assessment that they could easily be 5-5. They should have lost to both the Jets, Giants & especially last night where they literally tried giving the game away to the Raiders.

Nix isn't playing nearly as well as he did last year - particularly in the passing dept. His completion % & passer rating are significantly down from his season averages last year. Only his rushing numbers are on par from last year which has kept his QBR near identical to last season's. And there's apparently some friction between he & Payton as to their lack of being on the same page (and that's all they talk about ad nuseam on the local sport talk radio shows here where I've gotten sick of it & quit listening. Lol).

TBH, their success this year is primarily attributed to their defense with Van Joseph running the show (9th in PA), and secondarily their potent rushing game (7th in rushing offense). Dobbins has performed very well so far (and amazingly hasn't gotten hurt...knock on wood) while OTOH, 2nd rd pick RJ Harvey hasn't quite lived up to expectations. Additionally, the Broncos special teams has been very good this year.

The Chiefs should take them out but IMO, I don't think they will. The Denver D is too good & there's something definitely wrong with Mahomes. Who knows, they might even knock Mahomes out of the game. Lol. Look what they did to Stroud - poor guy is still in concussion protocol & may miss multiple games ("Sack" Allen & Nick Bonitto are having All-Pro seasons).

Remember the Broncos played them tough last year @ Arrowhead where they lost on a potential game-winning chip-shot FG attempt that was blocked as time expired (the 2nd game played in Denver was meaningless as KC, having locked up the division, played it's backups).

It'll be close, low-scoring & the Broncos will be more motivated to win.....

I watched enough to feel it would be worse than that. And it was.

Reporters are emphasizing a narrative that has the Cardinals looking for "revenge" . They've got significant injuries on defense so I'm not sure how it happens.
That said; the Seahawks have been solid but the paranoid supporter in me says it's not going to be easy. Hope I'm wrong and they breeze through this game and be healthy for the Rams.

Some people think that Pete is as relic now when it comes to the modern evolving game. His last few seasons with the Hawks were not good either. Bill B also seemed to be flailing at least on offense. Maybe they were too old to keep changing it up or maybe too set in their ways but Andy Reid isn't having any issues but offense is his bag unlike the other two. Vrabel certainly he has the Patriots doing well and he's another defensive guy..

Meanwhile Mac Jones hit the ground running at the 49ers with Shanahan and even though the numbers are not Flacco like, he's played mostly well with a B team on offense, almost a C team some would argue. If Jones continues like this, He's setting himself up for a Darnold like contract once he leaves the 49ers. He looked done a season ago.

He sure did look finished last season in those games he played in relief of the injured Lawrence (that's what spark the comments from Rex Ryan about his "pea-shooter" arm & that he has no business in the NFL).

If Jones keeps performing well & winning, any possibility that Shanahan & Lynch would want to keep him as the starter & trade Purdy in the off-season? Nothing against Purdy, but I actually think Jones has more talent - that's why he was a 1st rounder.

Shanahan says no The questions is already getting asked. The rest of the season will be interesting if Jones keeps getting wins. He's won five from six so far this season including the win over the Rams who many seem to think could be SB bound. But that was a good team performance not just Jones. Purdy's contract means that 2027 is probably the soonest they can move on if they wanted too unless they found a trade partner but so far Shanahan and Jones are talking up Purdy as expected. It's pretty clear as well that Shanahan has loved what Jones has done so far as a back up.

You ain't heard nuthin! I lived in the greater NY area for years. Non stop talk, with the strongest opinions of people who are certain they are right!

You are right though if the KC line can't keep the Broncos pass rush off Mahomes, it will be a long day for him. Hence a 13-9 KC win is possible.

As to Mac Jones, he hasn't played well enough in the last two weeks to supplant Purdy. He's filled in admirably, redeemed himself (though not to the level of Darnold, I don't think), but Purdy will play as soon as he's truly ready.

No one surprised Fox fired Sanchez. I'm only mildly surprised the are putting Brees in the booth, when they had Brady Quinn the last two weeks, and he did well, and has done quite a few NFL games in the past (though mostly an NCAA guy). Curious to hear how Brees does.

If I were Seattle I'd be a bit concerned about Arizona as well. They have been at least good all season, and they seem to have really rallied behind Brissett. Now that he's been given the keys to the car, they are going to be a tough out for anyone, including Seattle.
