At the end of the game Rodgers looked like one beat-up, weary, old QB that you use to see back in the 50s & 60s. Lol.
That's what I thought, though I wasn't alive then. To be honest though, for how banged up he was, and how brutal of a game it was, Rodgers could have played a lot worse, he just couldn't connect with anyone downfield. I'm not 100% writing the Steelers off just yet.

I also agree with you Denver isn't the best team in the AFC. In fact, after watching this week, I'm still thinking both KC and Buffalo can beat anyone in the playoffs. The question becomes can they run the table? And that I doubt.

Also agree Houston looks dangerous. Don't forget they started the season 0-3, losing @LAR, TB (fully healthy) and @JAX. All were close games. They also have a very tough schedule, and now look to be getting better, ready to peak at the end of the season. Their game with KC should be awesome to watch.

Ahh yes, the 1960s. Len Dawson enjoying a typical halftime break.

What a drubbing. Score wasn't anywhere near as close as the 33-15 score made it seem. Now 10 wins in a row for the Pats. After the bye, they get the Bills.
In my opinion both teams played hard on both sides of the ball. TV coverage, camera and commentary worked put some strange emphasis on brutality of some of the hits. Little dramatic to show cheesy helmet logo rubbed of after head to head contact between massive men. Patriots playing with grudge like intensity against a team that doesn't know who will be running back, quarterback or coach from week to week. Giants were already out of post season, so why rub their nose in it? And for the Giants same level of stupidity. Is it important for Jaxson Dart to get playing time? Of course, but resting him another week for a long view strategy and let Russell get wrestled was smarter move in my opinion. You have one QB who looks to be the future, a or the franchise player and Russell Wilson who is just walking around until forced retirement. My opinion is just that I feel like Pats wanted to run up the score and Giants playing for pride really showed some..
And Giants management have no reason to verbally correct the obvious errors in brand new, green, freshman enthusiasm of Dart saying " I have played this way all my life " yeah sure but all your life wasn't against the best defenders on the planet, guys that are trying to end you on every play. That tough guy, take a hit just because will be coached out of him or he won't last. Dozens of debilitated quarterbacks either injured out of the league permanently or on the disabled list read Jaxson's comments and say, yeah I remember when I thought that. Giants had nothing to gain and everything to lose , goofy coaching in my opinion.

That Bills game will be must watch football. Maye threw the ball exceptionally well with no turnovers. He is now the league's leading passer a few fraction of percentage points ahead of Stafford and firmly in the MVP hunt.

I would agree with that. Interestingly enough though, Maye has not thrown for a single 300 yard game. However, he's consistently in the mid to upper 200s. Nearly every single week.

Pats were missing players on both sides of the ball. Didn't seem to matter.

Agree Dart has to start protecting himself, or he's going to have a short career.

Cowboys v. Lions on Thursday.

Interesting - Maye hasn't thrown for one 300 yd game but yet he leads the league in passing yardage at 3415. He also leads the the league in competition pct at 71% (amongst starters) & is 4th in TD passes (23), and has thrown only 6 INTs.

Also interesting on that list is Williams has a passer rating score of only 88 which puts him on the bottom of the list which goes only 25 deep (the average passer rating score currently in the NFL is 88). Even more strange is that Nix isn't even on that list. I had to go look up his stats & passer rating; he's currently at 86 - below average!

A filtered cigarette and a Fresca!!!They were on the supermodel diet back then. No wonder he looks like he has a few non-rejuvenative habits.

He's got to grow some brain cells & run out-of-bounds well before any defender gets close to him. Even Allen runs out-of-bounds many times to avoid getting drilled. The more I watch that play, the more it becomes apparently that he was extremely lucky that he wasn't seriously injured. Christian Elliss is 6-2, 231 lbs with 4.5 speed coming at him full-throttle. Elliss said he thought that Dart would run out-of-bounds before he could get to him, but noticed Dart was "tiptoeing" along the sideline & decided to blast him.

Lions Cowboys is a coin toss on a few sites..others have Lions with tiny advantage.
Turned out a little tougher for Gerry to swallow. Cowboys fought hard but Lions offense owned Dallas D in the last quarter. Really good OC play calling, IMO.

Would guess Gerry took his separate plane home...

Big win for the Lions and great team performance but they need a lot of help to make it still. I think they’re going to finish tied with seventh and lose the tie breaker.
Another blow for them:
  • S Brian Branch suffered a torn Achilles in Thursday's win over Dallas, an MRI confirmed, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Friday, per sources. The third-year defensive back played 68 of 76 defensive snaps in Detroit's victory on Thursday night, tallying six total tackles. Branch is third on the team in total tackles (75), second in passes defensed (9) and fifth in sacks (2.5).

Too many games on fake turf. At least the NFL is doing something about it. You would think if stadiums are bending over backwards to put grass in stadiums for the world cup, they'd do it for football.

Kyler Murray's career has now moved into the next phase of his career, where teams won't want him as their starter, but some may have to accept that with so few other choices. His pay will drop significantly as well. And I seriously doubt he'll win much of anything, certainly not as a starter, on any team.

As to Jerry Jones, he's actually shown solid restraint not just up and firing coaches for some time. You might be thinking of how the Raiders just fire coaches year over year, then expect them to immediately turn the team into winners with a crap roster filled with holes, and backup QBs as their starter.

I don't know were the video version of this is but it's excellent in my opinion. Jerry Jones comes off as really intelligent and aware. He makes multiple comments, mostly positive about Arod's career and investment trajectory. You hear and see it during the interview that Jones looks at things, some people ,on a grand scale.
There is also a couple of interviews circulating around bike racing, one from GCN, with UCI leader.
Because I listened to 3,4 things in a row including a think tank about women's sports and trajectory, return on investment..
The interview with UCI pres really ,really stands out.
Jerry Jones, love or hate him, guy has vision.. Anyone in professional cycling circles that watches these should be really, really scared and worried about leadership. As I watched and listened to Jones, it ran through my mind, if he were in charge of professional bike racing and if 10 tooth rear cogs could have ever, ever crossed his radar.

Couldn't make it through. Can't stand Arod, for several reasons. I think they are giving Jerry too much credit. Consider this:
  • Long before Jerry bought the Cowboys, they were "America's Team" and the most valuable franchise in American sports.
  • The best GM Jerry had was Jimmy Johnson. He's the person who won them a few Super Bowls (including the SB Switzer won, and Barry credits Jimmy for this). Jerry talks about "they" and "we" but it was Jimmy who did the deal with Hershel Walker. He built that team. Once Jerry took over, the team has struggled to win playoff games, going 4-13 in the last 28 years, only winning a handful of wildcard games.
  • The NFL in its entirety has mushroomed in popularity. Every single team's value has grown by an incredible amount. Even the most mismanaged teams have grown considerably in value. Jerry isn't some outlier, genius businessman in an otherwise stagnant or struggling system.

You're right about Murray. I think he's finished at Arizona & if Gannon gets another year, he'll have to move on from Murray. Granted, Murray played in only 5 games because of his injuries, but in those 5 games he really didn't play that well - certainly not at the level expected of a #1 OA pick. Unless some team can resurrect his career, he'll probably go down as another #1 OA bust/colossal underachiever. He definitely has not lived up to anything close to the expectations of a #1 OA. Sadly, the Cards haven't been to the postseason since 2021.

On the Cowboys situation, I think Jones will have no choice but to fire Schottenheimer. Last year Prescott missed half the season because of the major hamstring tear (which possibly looked career ending). The team was lousy not making postseason & one could argue that it was because they lost Prescott. This year he's 100% healthy & hasn't missed one game. And not only is he healthy, but he's been playing the best football of his career. The guy is on fire - #1 QBR (73.4), leading the league in passing yardage, tied for 2nd in TD passes, 100 passer rating & near 70% pct - all way above his career averages (All-Pro type season). IMO, you can't have a QB & offense this superb & not make the postseason. There has to be a fall guy.

So many teams are struggling right now because of QB issues. I don't need to list the teams - you know exactly who they are. The Cowboys are not one of them & they have one of the top QBs in the league playing at MVP level. Something else is wrong with the Cowboys & that's going to fall on the HC's shoulders.
