I was impressed with Mac Jones. he was very good in the back up role and playing with a B or C grade group of receivers. The other players and team media love him also, which never hurts. He's also much tougher than I expected. He was almost killed in the first game with the Rams but still piloted the team to a great win. He doesn't have the physical talents of Darnold but his processing skills are just as good.

I think Mac Jones showed last season he's matured a lot and definitely has what it takes to be a starter in this league. He actually showed that his rookie year in NE, but the revolving door of coaches there hurt him. The next Sam Darnold? Well, Sam just won a SB, so that's saying a lot.

Kyler Murray's value is supposedly around $43m a year. I'll believe it when I see it. But a team will do what they did with Wilson because Arizona gave Murray a stupid contract, so they will pay the $36m (the cap hit will actually be about $55m. Unreal), and the new team will pay $2m. So he'll have plenty of options.

I also will be really surprised if the Vikings head into this coming season with JJ as their starter, and no vet competition. And I mean competition, I don't mean backup. I mean Minnesota will bring someone in, like Murray, or Rodgers. Those would be the big two. But they could perhaps bring in someone like Mariota, maybe Geno Smith, maybe Russell Wilson to play the same dance again, and try to get that guy some starts and hope JJ learns more.

I can assure anyone that Maxx Crosby wants to win games. It's not about money to him. He badly wanted to win on the Raiders. He'll want the same on Baltimore.

Rams are definitely all-in for 2026. They have the cash, but an aging Stafford, and other aging players, may make a long season tough.

Free agency (legal tampering) starts tomorrow. Get ready for some wild numbers.

Mac Jones has to start somewhere. He carries that 1st rd tag, so anything other than a starting gig & he'll be considered a bust.

Murry is way overpaid & was overdrafted. He may have two elite traits (arm strength & athleticism) but his height at 5'10" is the elephant in the room. The average height of a NFL QB is 6'3," (with more & more QBs coming in at 6'5"+), and the average height of offensive lineman is around 6'5." Modern day football is become the land of the giants. Lol. There's been only one short (under 6') QB in the modern era that has done well in the postseason & actually won a SB. That's Russell Wilson at 5'11." The odds are greatly stacked against a short QB being successful in the NFL (a short QB can be very successful at the collegiate level but the NFL is a whole different story). Murray sadly is rated a "Tier 3" QB. And injuries are starting to mount- he's missed 21 games over the last 3 seasons..

McCarthy not start this season? IMO, that's a stupid move - has O'Connell lost his mind? Last season was basically McCarthy's rookie season since 2024 was a wash with his knee injury. So, this past season, McCarthy didn't do all that bad. Sure he made a lot of rookie mistakes (more picks than TDs, low comp pct & passer rating, etc) but he did show some bright spots especially in the latter part of the season. In fact, he had the best big-time throw percentage among starting quarterbacks:

McCarthy is only 23 & needs to time to develop & mature. Brady has talked about this many times on how teams are not being patient with these top 1st rounders & prematurely benching them or giving up on them altogether. As a former QB, O'Connell should know better.

49ers were interested in Pierce and a few other WR's but seemingly got priced out. Plus they wanted a big body receiver as they will lose Jennings in FA..

Kenneth Walker becomes the first SB MVP to change teams the following season, since 1993.
Am I missing something here? Why didn't the Seahawks franchise tag Walker? Not only SB MVP, but a big factor in their playoff run. Do the Seahawks think they can just go to draft easily find another RB of that skill level? Lol. (A good, strong, durable RB is worth their weight in gold).

Do you think Evans was a wise acquisition? The guy has one chronically injured hamstring plus an assortment of other injuries. According to Draft Sharks, he has a 93% chance of getting injured this season. He'll be 33 by the time camp starts. I think the 9ers have an aging, broken down Megatron WR who's at a high risk of getting injured again.

Maybe why they paid less than 15 million per season. obviously they will draft a WR or two and maybe pick up another one as well. As all they have at the moment is injury prone Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson. rumors that Deebo will be returning which is a head scratcher, way past his best. At least Evans has been incredibly consistent, hopefully the injuries don't continue..

Seahawks lost some talent but the roster is still a very good one especially if they get some hits in the draft. Rams added two really good corners. 49ers and Cardinals have more to do roster wise.

Denver cut Greenlaw already, injury problems again. If he returns to the 49ers he is going to take a big pay cut

Evans missed more than half the season last year with that hammy (I think he tore it, IMO). That definitely put a damper on Mayfield's passing game & probably cost them the playoffs.

There's a stud Megatron receiver in this draft; Kenyon Sadiq - 6'4," 241 lbs, 4.39 speed! (he's listed as a TE but lined up many times in the both the slot & WR positions). Instead of signing a broken down, old WR, Lynch could be looking at this cat. Now with the 9ers holding only the 27th pick, they might have to trade up to get Sadiq.

I don’t know how true but some were saying due to his injury history and something always happening to him. Which is why they alleged the Seahawks didn’t use him as often during the regular season and increased it for the post season.

On the other side, it’s better for the Chiefs that EB is back since Reid likes passing more. Some chiefs fans are hoping chiefs move up their second 1st rounder in the draft in order to take two defensive players. I wonder if the chiefs are trying to go back to the 2018-2020 period of elite offense while their defense tries to hang on.

Sadiq will be in high demand.

Doubt they trade up especially after the Lance debacle. More chance they trade down for more picks as day 2 of the draft is supposed to have bargains and they need more defense as well and o line

Meanwhile, the Raiders one of the most busy teams. Backed up truckload of cash up to Tyler Linderbaum's house, and he'll now be the highest paid center in the NFL. This is huge for Fernando Mendoza. Raiders very busy elsewhere, but there are still so many holes to fill.

John Schneider must know something we don't with Walker.

Chiefs lost their entire secondary almost. I agree, I expect them to be all offense this coming season.

Eagles lost Jaelen Philips to Carolina. They traded to get Phillips a year ago, so this has to hurt.

Bills managed to re-sign Connor McGovern. A sigh of relief for Josh Allen.

Here's a full list of all signings, so far, team by team.

And here's a list of who is left. I'll be surprised if Rasheed Walker and Braden Smith are available on Wednesday.
