The course was too tough IMO though. Fine as a finishing circuit for 2-3 laps, but 15 times over that hill meant there wasn't really a race to watch, it was pretty much decided from Lap 1. The only question then was which of PK and G would get it.

What is there to say about that Shambles of a Nationals Course. Great ride by Team Sky 1-2-3

It was a bit harsh, two circuits of that would have been fine.. Im assuming they went with a short circuit because of the tv coverage.

I think considering the number of domestic riders involved the course was a bit tough. I think what made things worse is that most of the riders had been involved in tour series for the weeks up to it so had been training for 1hr crit racing up till thursday, made preperation tough.. Dont blame that completely on BC, but there is an argument for the tour series to finish a week earlier.

Sky are taking the British Champions Jersey to the tour de france.. First time in 18 years, since Sean Yates in 92. I could not be happier

I lost at soccer..? How? My team did not qualify for the world cup courtesy of being stitched up with mission impossible in our qualifying group?

Ive had a wonderful day, G winning, England losing, Lewis Hamilton didnt win the grand prix, all i need now is Armstrong to slip in the shower and break an arm and my day is complete. :D

I'm happier that the British jersey will be in the tour for the first time in 18 years compared to that shambles of a footy team (obv I'm not dim mind)

Andy's probably going to be in white pretty early anyway. Would that confuse you as well?

He'll be in white later rather than sooner... it'll probably be on EBH's or Kreuziger's shoulders for the first week.

Um tony Martin was in white for like 10 days last year. This year hes an even better time triallist and possibly a favourite for the prologue. Cant see anyone else wearing white for the first week. Maybe Kreuziger but most probably Martin.

+1. Wouldn't be surprised to see Richardson speak to Sky for next season after that race.

I watched the last 60 minutes on Eurosport because the Football was a shambles, But yes it looked a very hard coarse but maybe it was a tad too hard. It also looked exposed a lot of the time and it must of been very hot so you can understand why most of the domestic riders had no chance.

Kennaugh looks like 14 year old kid but what a rider. Simon Richardson got stuck in and I'm sure Brailsford would of noticed that - he had guts but looks very classy and too good to ride domestic crits etc and should have a go at tougher European races given the chance.

Looked like Jeremy Hunt rode well and nice to see him not complaining, he just got on with his racing so well done for his ride. He's looking good for his first Tour.

He's surely picked himself some worthy opponents. I'm sure Pieter Weening could have won in Curacao.

Simon Richardson is a great little rider. Won the Ras last year and I'd be interested to see how he gets on the TOB.

Ian Bibby is another domestic pro who Sky could be interested in. Current UK cyclo-cross champion, winner of 2 rounds of the Tour Series, does a decent TT and is a good climber. Might make a decent stae race rider if he concentrates on the the road (which he's doing this year).
