Kansas departing already is a shocker, and they lost only by one point! That's gotta sting and to be a fly on the wall of the Jayhawks' locker room postgame...Another #1 goes down...and not just any #1, the defending champs.
SDSU, Princeton, TX, Houston, Arkansas...
GU tomorrow.

Yep, feels like an end of an era for some of the powerhouse schools. I have to keep on reminding myself I no longer need to hate on Duke because without Coach K they for sure aren't the same. Also agree seeing Bama on top of the rankings in basketball is definitely weird, they're known for football, not bball.Check out this stat:

These historically are basketball powerhouse programs that are now declining. Coach K & Roy Williams both retired recently but Calipari & Self are still with their schools.
And it's strange seeing Alabama as a #1 seed & still in the running. When I think Bama - I think football, but now their basketball program is starting to make a name for itself. But they do have a 5-star recruit & top NBA prospect leading the team.
GO GU!The madness starts up again today, my bracket is turd city at this point. While I don't have the Zags making is past the Elite Eight hopefully they can at least beat UCLA today.
On a side note what's Princeton doing in the Sweet 16? They're known for rowing and lacrosse and whatnot, not basketball. This is a very confusing year.
Maybe they just play smart basketball? LolOn a side note what's Princeton doing in the Sweet 16? They're known for rowing and lacrosse and whatnot, not basketball.
I'm with you! GU needs to take better care of the ball (pointing out the obvious) against UCon. They will also have to get more points from others because UCon won't give Timme as much 'freedom'.Holy ***, that last minute of the Gonzaga game just about gave me an aneurysm!
Maybe I'm misremembering but I seem to recall Gonzaga used to be very dependable on the free throw line. A player with only a 56% free throw is not something I'm used to seeing from Gonzaga.I'm with you! GU needs to take better care of the ball (pointing out the obvious) against UCon. I want to watch the SDS game tonight but I don't have TBS. Which is also the network with GU's game on Saturday (the only weekend game NOT on network TV).
No #1s left!!Wow, both Bama and Houston are out now - come on Princeton, your rowing skills (and smarts, according to Nomad) mustn't let me down now!
SDSU, wtf? Good for them though, I just never had them on my radar.
I kinda thought they would lose because they looked so shaky against UCLA, but not by almost 30 points! It's like they blew what they had on UCLA and come UConn time they had nothing left.WTH! GU
I didn't fill out a bracket. I just looked through, and went "I hope they make it deep", "they could win it all". I had SDS as my "I hope", and all of the #1s plus UCon, TX, and GU as "could". I only watch one game a week during the season so I only have a bare bones feel for some teams, and only the records of other teams to go on. Based on my nearly blind method, I did GREAT having 3 of 8 (I rarely do that good if I actually do some homework to fill out a bracket).I kinda thought they would lose because they looked so shaky against UCLA, but not by almost 30 points! Who's left on your bracket? I only have Texas and my bracket says they will lose today. Not that my bracket has been any good...
I'm gonna have to get behind SDSU now because they (along with FAU) have been lighting this tournament up!
I didn't watch any regular season games and just took a quick glance at the rankings and the usual winning suspects and went from there. And my bracket shows it!I didn't fill out a bracket. I didn't predict a Cinderella because I didn't see a 16 or 15 getting past the first game, but we actually got two.
