By the sounds of it, Malone and Booth didn’t see eye to eye very much and didn’t work well together, and it finally got to this point. Jokić wasn’t happy with the decision making, both in terms of play but also trades (or lack thereof) and personnel changed.

Shocking part is when this happened. Only 3 games left in the season and you still have a chance at the 3rd seed or you can drop to 8th and the play in, which obviously doesn’t guarantee you a playoff spot.

I think most people probably saw this coming, just not at this point of the season.

Couple of awful coaching dismissals last season as well.Memphis coach getting canned was also surprising. Same amount of wins as the Nuggets at the moment.

[FBI director]Patel says he and others are in New York to announce historic arrests "across a wide-sweeping criminal enterprise that envelops both the NBA and La Cosa Nostra".

The team there have brough "profound justice", he says.

He says individuals such as Chauncey Billups, Terry Rozier Damon Jones have been taken into custody today.

"This is an illegal gambling operation and sports rigging operation that spanned the course of years. The FBI led a coordinated takedown across 11 states to arrest over 30 individuals today," he says, adding the case is ongoing.
(this was of course current UCI motor doping Tzar Nicholas Raudenski's old job of finding betting scandals)

The NCAA revoked the eligibility of six men’s college basketball players on Friday as a result of three separate sports-betting cases that involved a power-conference school and allegations of players throwing games to lose by more points than the spread.
The development comes as the sporting world contends with mounting scrutiny over betting. Nearly three dozen people were arrested last month, including an NBA player and coach, for what federal law enforcement officials described as their involvement in various illicit gambling activities. Just this week, UFC President and CEO Dana White said he was in touch with the FBI regarding a match that involved unusual betting patterns.

For its part, the NCAA said last month it was investigating at least 30 current or former players for gambling allegations. The NCAA also banned three college basketball players in September for betting on their own games at Fresno State and San Jose State.

"This was truly a family affair," Even the ex-wife was in on it - better then paying alimony I guess!
Authorities on Thursday announced charges against 14 people in connection with the multimillion dollar ring, capping a nearly two-year investigation.

Authorities allege the gambling ring was headed up by Joseph "Little Joe" Perna, whom they describe as a soldier in the Lucchese crime family. Perna, 55, is charged with racketeering, conspiracy, gambling offenses and money laundering. He was charged along with his son, stepsons, nephews, wife, and ex-wife.
