cyclingfans.com said:The domain, teamradioshack.com, is registered to CSE Cycling of Austin, Texas. This is Armstrong agent Bill Stapleton's sports agency that previously registered thepaceline.com.
Bala Verde said:I read rumours mentioning Nissan and Google.
Ninety5rpm said:The name oraclecycling.com was registered back in February, probably by someone who registers a bunch of names for practically nothing, hoping to cash in on some small percentage of them that somebody eventually wants to buy from them. I suppose it's possible this idea has been cooking that long, but I doubt it. If it had been registered in the last week or so, that would be much more convincing.
sherer said:i do wonder why some teams sponsor cycling teams. It's not like I can buy anything from USPS as i'm in the UK and the cycling team didn't make me want to watch the Disco Channel either.
Garmin and Telco companies seem to be a good fit as there are a lot of communication devices between the team and the riders
I was asking myself the same question - and now you have reminded me -ugh, thanks a lot El Imbatido...El Imbatido said:Is that the one that goes "You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, so lets do it like they do on team discovery channel"![]()
Thoughtforfood said:Should have posted this here in the proper thread:
Radio Shack? Really? Dang, maybe they should also get Pic n Pay Shoes. Gotta say that at least Oracle has some cachet, but Radio Shack? I don't know what the European equivalent would be, but think of a store with $99 home theater systems, cell phones, and cheap Taiwan made batteries. Man, The Uniballer was willing to drag the bottom of the barrel for a chance to get second in the 2010 Tour.

My question is 1) Whats a Japanese co sponsoring an all AMERICAN team
2) Why do google need to sponsor a team - they've already got world domination.
Thoughtforfood said:What exactly are you talking about? My post had NOTHING to do with yours. Dude, take your finger off the trigger.
TRDean said:TFF...his reply was pretty funny eh? WTF?

mr. tibbs said:The US is a pretty lucrative car market, so I'm sure Nissan wants to be all over it (esp. with Armstrong as the face for ads). And I hope they are the title sponsor over Radio Shack. I'd take Oracle or Google, too, but I don't wanna hear "Radio Shack" for the duration of any race Armstrong enters next year.
P.s.: Isn't Subaru Japanese, too?
Publicus said:Well someone with the group that owned the Discovery Channel team has registered "teamradioshack.com" in the last couple of days. So better get use to it. Team Radio Shack . . . just rolls off the tongue.![]()
