Its disappointing because they could have incorporated the blue of Garmin really well. On the road you won't see the black, with the green POC there will be no trouble seeing them. Giant kit easily best I've seen for many years

Yeah, I was hoping for something similar to Bobridge or Trav Meyer's old Aus champs jersey, except with blue instead of yellow:

Really, I see Trek, Giant, Sky, Lampre, IAM, Greenedge, Movistar, Lotto, all with a big part of their jersey (>50%) dark
OK, let's go thru this

Trek: (rumored) white on top, and that's all you can see when they're on their bikes.
Giant: Black
Sky: Black
Lampre: Fluo
IAM: Blue with color accent.
Greenedge: Wait, what???
Movistar: Blue with color accent
Lotto: Come on man. What on earth are you talking about?

I'm not even a man, but hey, why don't you look what I posted? "> 50% dark" do you disagree? Every single team I posted has a kit with a dark lower half (Lotto, Greenedge, Trek), or only colored shoulders (lampre) or is entirely dark besides some logos and bands.
YES, we mostly only see the shoulders, but WHY add black then? It's a boring, ugly trend that should be stopped. And now we have Cannondale who could have had green argyle, instead they have boring black with a couple green accents. It's hideous. Black = crap. Any kit with over half of it dark = crap (or at least way more crap than it would have been if it had been colored)
I am willing to forgive teams like Sky, Movistar, IAM who have a well designed (that's quite easy when it's black/dark blue though) kit that's fully black, but hideous semi-black kits are just unforgivable. "It could've been great, but you made it crap".

I want fluo Lampre back

I still don't see how any of the Lotto's is dark, but apart from that, I guess it's a matter of taste.

(except for the Cannondale one, which is indisputable fugly, and not in a good mapei kind of way)

I think she means the Dutch Lotto? (although TBF if they had an all-white kit she'd suddenly hate the color white :p)

Shockingly bad. Maybe they're trying to out-do Trek. Argyle insistence has always destroyed their kit imo. I don't see the point of it. It means nothing to anyone other than Vaughters and his golf jumpers!
It gives (gave?) the team some personality no matter how many sponsors passed, which is (was?) very clever.

Tomorrow Trek's jersey will be revealed on their instagram. Though most likely it's the one we've already seen on the image from the UCI. I think that will be a small improvement, but still dull.

I think the Cannondale jersey is OK overall but as many have said, it's too bad that it's black like so many others. That rain jacket looked great - they should have gone with that for the jersey, but then they would have lost the argyle

I think the argyle identity is brilliant, it's a bit quirky and nerdy, which seems to be exactly the identity they're trying to convey. And as hrotha says, they're the only team to have an identity which isn't linked to its sponsor.

I'd sooner ask where the green comes from? I thought Cannondale only adopted it as a remnant from the Liquigas days.

The whole argyle branding idea is brilliant, just not a fan of the 2015 (non) implementation of it.

I'm with 42x16ss, I much prefer the 2010 era Garmin -Transitions version of argyle. If they had done something like this (less white) with 2 shades of green replacing the blue and another color to complete the argyle pattern I would have been very happy.

My first impression about new Cannondale's kit was bad, but I'm getting used to seeing it very quickly and looking at the gallery on velonews, I think it does look better on the road than on presentation.

I think I will cope with the colour change better than I did with Williams F1 last year.

i agree, it looks much better on the bike. the green sleeves are more pronounced. if only they were argyle.

The argyle was a unique element to their jerseys. It kept them interesting and made them different from the others. Plus it was a great way for them to build more interest for the team in the fans through such things as dubbing themselves the argyle armada.

If they had just made green the 2009, 2010, or 2013 jerseys (or even better use a green and blue argyle pattern) they would have had maybe the best jersey in the peloton.

It's sad, and a little laughable that their still saying they are argyle when they clearly aren't even close anymore.

To balance opinions on new Cannondale-Garmin kit a bit, I am quite fine with it. It is not the best utilisation of the opportunities they had with their colour scheme and shapes, but for a black jersey it is okay, mostly thanks to prominent green on the shoulders and overall clean (and clear) design. + Green helmet matches well.

So far LottoNL the worst for me this season from PT teams.

At least the old ones like 2009 were characterfully ugly. Sure the argyle was a bit silly, but it gave them an identity and was immediately noticeable in the bunch.

This commits the dual sin of being both ugly AND nondescript. My statement on the Giant-Alpecin kit was that it was sterile and corporate; it was nice enough and subtle enough to be able to shift units, but would be bland in the bunch. This is too ugly to wear, and too black to be recognizable.

They had better have some bright Cannondale green gilets so that we can recognise them in the early season.

Green Argyle dreadfully disappointing...bleech actually. I have always liked the Garmin jerseys but this one just doesn't cut it for me.

Only one that I like this year so far is Tinkoff, but last years was better. Thank goodness there is no black on it!

Astana is the same? I like colorful, easy to spot jerseys!
