RCS will be on board and will help in the organizing of the race.

Dubai wants a bigger and better race than Qatar and Oman, so it might be a World Tour race instead of a 2HC race.

Alberto Contador has already hinted he would start the race in 2014 He is enjoying the sprints in the desert.:D
I bet he would also enjoy the fat bonus he would get from starting the race :p

So it might be that RCS have started the great worldwide offensive against ASO?

Or maybe I'm just too optimistic

Another useless race. Why can't the sheiks not support the European races like they do with football teams?

Acquarone's dream :D It seems so, but the ASO always seem to have one up their sleeve, who knows, they might start a new race in Baharain:eek:

I wouldn't mind if it's a 2HC race. At least the Expats might turn up to watch the race. ( The majority of the European expats are British though)

well for the big cash, riders will go anywhere even in places where the usual bike riders are rode over by cars and then raped.

personally i'm very disappointed with the cocaine kingpins from south america who seems to not trust the uci. i want a world tour race for climbers in colombia.make it happen uci!

I know, but the other Gulf state without a race is Yemen which is even worse.

Plus 1 to that, I don't care about these boring flat races in the desert, give me a race in a country where there is actually a market for cycling and has plenty of good terrain to give it exciting parcours.

Dubai is mostly flat. At least in Abu Dhabi they have a nice tarmacked mountain in Jebel Hafeet. I did think a Tour of the UAE was inevitably coming, mind.

Sounds interesting. Maybe in the long term this race could merge with Qatar and Oman to form a fourth Grand Tour.
I hope not. Colombia should have a GT before any country, or group of countries.

lol, another flat stage race in the sandbox.
It's unfortunate that the countries where there is actually some money to be invested in cycling have the most boring landscape ;)

(or incredible pollution)

Hopefully they will be build one or two hills before the first edition. Otherwise the only time gaps will come from the TTs and any Bonus seconds.

I wonder why the Kazakhs aren't planning to have a race. They do have the money and terrain.
