I have a set of Zipp 404 Firecrest wheels on my TT bike. Love them! I now have new road bike and I am looking to upgrade the wheels. I would love to go with a set of Zipp 303 Firecrest given the new release and lower price point; however, the rims are hookless and not compatible with GP5K. I know people who are riding GP5K on their new 303's, but that is tempting disaster. I have been on the scene of a high speed crash and I don't want any part of it given the factors I can control. So, in light of the fact I have a preference to GP5K tires, what recommendations do you have assuming you have ridden a set of Zipps and now prefer something else that will handle GP5K, preferrable 32mm. TIA

Where can I find info about those rims not being suitable for GP5K ? Are there specific tires that are used with those rims? I did see mention about the rim beds being ribbed, but I don't understand the function of the ribs. How is the bead of the tire secured to the rim?

There are a bunch of articles out there. Here is one for starters: https://www.bikeradar.com/news/zipp-303-firecrest-disc-2021/

From Zipp: "Zipp does not have a list of approved tyres. Instead, it says all current tubeless and tubeless-ready tyres are compatible with the new 303 Firecrest (and 303 S) wheels, unless the tyre manufacturer specifically states the tyre is incompatible with hookless rims"

Additionally, this one: https://intheknowcycling.com/continental-grand-prix-5000-tl-review/

"I’ve installed the GP5K TL on rims from several differen.....Note, these tires should not be used on hookless rims like the 4.5AR and 3.4AR wheelsets from ENVE or Stans Avion series rims or others without hooks for the tire bead to grab onto. They won’t hold."

Furthermore, the sidewall of GP5000TL states "Mount on Hooked Rims" - https://bikerumor.com/2018/11/21/fi...ng-continentals-new-tubeless-gp-500-tl-tires/
