So far since the poll was up, his next move was not addressing the USADA report and quitting as Livestrong Chairman.

For some reason, a confession feels like the next move from him.

My bet is that Armstrong will "step back from the public eye to spare my family the stress caused by these baseless, unfounded and untrue accusations"

We will see no more press releases and fluff pieces about Lance. He will attempt to settle various lawsuits quietly and without fanfare.

We will see less of Lance than we do of Ulle, or Indurain, or other non-publicity seeking former cyclists.

At least here in the US, I cannot speak to Europe, Asia, South American, Australian or Antarctic regions though

I think the book will be next.

Sponsors are deserting him, and the public is turning and he's sinking - which he must realise.

But he's a survivor, and he keeps his head above the water by pushing everyone elses down.

The tell all book is the only realistic option left for him personally imo.

Jail? Who cares, he can handle it - he's a survivor.

The reason Nike dropped out because they know this has months to run with additional lawsuits on Armstrong.

There will be no confession. Legally it's not possible.

I agree, except if the federal case gets re-opened then a confession is very possible to reduce a jail sentence.

It just depends on how politically embarrassing the fact that case got shut down gets. Nike and Livestrog ditching him are big, the more lawsuits that come against him the more unpopular he'll get and the more likely it will be that the case gets re-opened.

The statement of Nike was brutal, talking about being deceived for ten years.

Like OJ? The 'How I did it' book?

Not that I condone it, but 'suck start a shotgun' isn't an option on that poll. His wealth, reputation, public stature, and quality of life are changing for the worse. When he no longer can afford to buy influence and friends, will he quietly sulk away as a disgraced recluse? Will he turn to other substances to ease the pain and ride Pantani's final climb? Or will he end it dramatically?

Suicide seems like an admission of guilt to me.
But if he does confess, the best strategy is to wait. Because if he has to go out, to be able to take the sponsors who abandoned him down too would be a bit of revenge. "Yes. I doped my whole career. And the UCI covered it up because NIKE paid them off for me."
If you have to go down, go out in a blaze of scorched earth glory.

This has been on my mind for quite some time now.

I think a lot more explicit. Revenge.

More "Let's go for it you *****. You wanna **** with me? Bring it on."

The guy actually, is pretty much fearless - the less he has to lose the more dangerous he becomes.

If I was filthy and weak, I'd be worried.

He is going to lose the lawsuits. We all know this. I think he was hoping that there would be enough legal wiggle room to avoid this, or at least limit the damage, but it is becoming increasingly clear that this is not the case.

So once you take that argument away, his best move going forward is the confession. Everyone knows he did it, and a lot of people will forgive him if he confesses. No one likes a liar though.

I don't think it will come right away, but soon. Once the UCI officially strips him, and all the lawsuits get rolling, I think there will be some quick negotiations for settlements accompanied by the confession.

So LA is extremely quiet about the USADA report. But sooner or later he's going to have to open his mouth in public. What do you think he'll do for his next move?

Wait, I thought he said he's "moved on and won't address the allegations and won't fight the USADA/UCI on any charges against him"?

Oh wait......

I think the book will be next.
What would be the point really? who'd want to buy a copy? not me. You can just save your money and buy someone else's book.

Sponsors are deserting him, and the public is turning and he's sinking - which he must realise.

He doesn't deal with reality very well my friend, you and I(and the rest here know this), so he probably will just not do anything here.

But he's a survivor, and he keeps his head above the water by pushing everyone elses down.

A "survivor" of his own making/doing. he got cancer from doping himself to the gills, then played the "poor me" pity party and it worked to an extent. Now it' seems to have backfired on him, poor Wonderboy. He's now a man without a country it seems.

The tell all book is the only realistic option left for him personally imo.

Again, what would a book prove? all the testimonies, and Hamilton's book have demolished ANY credibility Wonderboy could ever hope to gain from writing some book about himself. I honestly, sadly think some publisher will dole out millions to Wonderboy for that monstrocity though.

Jail? Who cares, he can handle it - he's a survivor.

Yep, he can handle everything. He'll probably dope himself up if it ever comes to that, or just sit around telling anyone within an earshot of him in prison:"Ive never doped, I've been tested over 600 times, and not 1 positive test...ever. Don't you people know who I am? It's a witch hunt, it's all jealousy. Does anyone have Floyd Landis's number?", while in prison.

Weak admission put out after business hours this Friday. The USADA report is too voluminous for his strategy of ignoring the sanction to work. All people hear is 1000 pages of evidence. Much like the 500 tests seemed like too many to beat every time, 1000 pages is too many to dismiss.

The UCI and Verbruggen should be worried.

God yes. In the last 24 hours, hearing Cycling Australia speak out against the UCI and seeing multiple articles about how Lance and Hein were pals is just more than I could have imagined. I hope this wave keeps rolling, finally something bigger than LA, bigger than the UCI, bigger than the sport - 'the media' reporting the truth.

He figures by confessing he can get public sympathy. Blame cycling, blame UCI, change the focus to "its them not me". Lets watch out. A twisted confession.

The confession is coming. BTW - all of the contract terminations were asked for by Lance yesterday. Don't give any of the companies credit for their press releases today....
