Yet not a single name you picked is a realistic candidate.

Cycling is governed by administrators, not ex pros who rode at the top level. You might want to look at what previous presidents did before getting elected.
I thought this was meant to be a little light hearted pre Christmas bimble, is it now all serious?
If you want serious Makarov is unfortunately the man.

@Libertine Seguros should just run for office!
It is time for me to throw my hat in the ring. But then I will have to retrieve it again. I love that hat. It's one of those Eisbär bobble hats you see on the ski jumping, but in subtle colours rather than the fluorescent stuff that makes them look like a wintersport version of a Vini Zabù kit. When I bought it, there were pictures of Thomas Diethart and Anna Fenninger (not yet Veith) on the label.

My manifesto will be strong and will overcome my lack of cycling administrative experience.

WT teams will be reduced to 15 and all teams ranking 16 to 40 (plus any new teams whose equivalent ranking in previous year's points would put them top 40) will be eligible for wildcard status at the discretion of organisers. This will increase the freedom of organisers to set their startlist while simultaneously ensuring a lack of absolute cannon fodder wildcards at the highest level.

A larger amount of points will be given for higher profile races and for secondary competitions such as the GPM in order to incentivise and improve competition for these, while lower placements in stage race sprints and GCs will be disincentivised by a lower amount of points

Races to be promoted to the WT due to their historic importance and significance will include Paris-Tours and Tre Valli Varesine. Züri-Metzgete will be revived as will Paris-Bruxelles on my personal parcours for it.

S**s will be relegated, and can be awarded a pro licence back at the specific cost of the exact price the head of the UCI requires to run better races instead and fund development programs to bring better and harder pro cycling routes to developing areas with parcours potential and to fund women's racing at an equivalent level, parcours and coverage level to the men. This cost will of course vary year on year depending on my whims about which parts of the world I feel like investigating or which riders I am explicitly favouring.

The stupid rule about race lengths will be relaxed so we can get more of the 10-15 day races at a good level that gave us things like the Coors Classic and the Peace Race.

Any rider or team that does not publicly denounce their association with Velon will be automatically given a one hour's starting penalty for every race they enter. The Hammer Series will be allowed, but only on velodromes because that's where that crap belongs. Jonathan Vaughters is allowed to continue to run a team, on the proviso that he not run his mouth about his vision of the sport anymore.

Neutral service vehicles will be manned by Neutral DSes whose responsibility is to take over for the remainder of the stage any team who have been deemed to be racing in too negative a manner by commissaires. The Neutral DS panel will consist of Jacky Durand, Aleksandr Vinokourov and the ghost of Frank Vandenbroucke. Too many negative racing infractions and a DS can be suspended for bringing the sport into disrepute. The suspension meted out can be doubled due to 'aggravating circumstances' such as the use of Sepp Kuss.

Post-race interviews with Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig shall be mandatory and enforced.

All race designs in road cycling will either be vetted personally by the head of the UCI, or by the consigliere of the department, Angelo Zomegnan, who in turn will consult his specialised advisory panel which consists solely of cocaine.

I really don't understand the hatred of Velon. They mostly post videos and reposts of social media posts the teams already posted.
Sure, there was the Hammer Series, which got cancelled, and was never intended to replace traditional road racing.

About the CUL Interview Rule; every race, or just the races she's in?

It's because of the breakaway background. "We're going to reinvent cycling, we are. We're going to make a new economic model." Buggers can't even pay their member teams what's owed to them.

Reckon Sarah Gigante could give Cecilie a run for her money in the interview stakes.

There's no real reason to hate them but once LS has forged an opinion, it can never ever be changed.

Absolutely. UCI's communications would be improved by 5000 word press releases which have no actual point.
I wish I could put multiple Emojis It would start with :laughing:then thumbs up
So the Mad for dissing Libertine then Laughing for partially being accurate then me being sarcastic with UCI's improved press releases statement with the sarcasm being that they would be much better despite @Parker 's funny.
