Good to see him racing. It is obvious, like riding Nevada City, that he just wants to race his bike. A real man keeps riding regardless of his situation, another tucks his tail and runs when he can't hack the pace or the heat anymore.

He was wearing a skin suit from the old OUCH team, which no longer exists. Since it is no longer a registered team, he cannot use the kit.

well done Floyd, you wanna race doesn't matter if you have the latest bike, shoes, jersey if you got it in your legs go for it.

i remember the story of Sean Kelly and his brother went into the local town and saw that a bike race was about to start and they asked if they could have a go, no racing bikes, no nothing and Sean nearly won the race, he was 16/17 beating guys who trained to race. Class in cycling does not come from a blood bag.

Again, bravo Floyd, this is what real bike racing is and was always about.

For road time trials...a fixed extension may be added to the
steering system; in this instance only a position where the
forearm is in the horizontal plane is permitted.

(Floyd's current position concurs with the rules.)

So it wasn't okay for Landis to wear the OUCH skinsuit in the prologue but it's okay in the TT in the same race. That's pretty stupid officiating.

a little ot, but what does the uci have against non-horizontal forearms? i remember a stink about floyd's position a few years back, but i guess i never figured it out exactly. thx.

I don't want to speak for the UCI, but I believe they cited safety
reasons (just as they did when they banned both of Obree's time
trial positions) i.e they believe you can steer, and perhaps brake,
with more control when your forearms are horizontal as opposed
to having your hands higher or lower than your elbows.
