Ehh, I had to tune back in... ;-).

Sundling does look pretty gassed to me actually, gap just too big unless Jonna really falls apart. Helps that Victoria is my favorite skier!
Yea, she's going to run out of snow, but at least she gave it a go. It would have been far too easy to have just settled in given the size of the gap behind, after all Joensuu behind is primarily a sprinter so there's almost no risk of losing a spot unless she has a fall.

Sørum was on the IBU Cup since Christmas. Still in the WC top 25 after losing his bonus entry on the World Cup, and is looking like a bet for a podium here still as well. Norway are doing FIS' work for them by trying to make men's biathlon just as predictable and boring as men's XC.

And yet it's still way better than last season because at least you can take guesses as to which Norwegian will step up this race.

Dale's sprint up the roller was Riccò Col d'Aspin hilarious. QFM having a last lap to let Jacquelin feel less bad about his Ruhpolding one.

The French definitely had bad skis. QFM couldn't have done much better on the shooting range, but still almost loses to a guy with 4 misses. Ridiculous.

Good performance by Barp, keeping up with Lapalus and dropping Toenseth.
Edit: How can a 2m guy like Chiocchetti be so bad at double poling? I get that he is one of the thinnest guys, but he also makes technical mistakes. His diagonal stride is actually better than his double poling. Still needs some work (and probably also extra muscle mass) to get the best out of his leverages.

Quite slow racing in the women's mass start so far. Not sure why someone like Lampic never tried to hurt the others and go hard on the first lap

Another strong Simon performance. Tandrevold and Braisaz-Bouchet are doing their best to make the fight for the overall as close as possible.

Simon looks like she is peaking well for the WC.

I think she is going to win the World Cup overall too. Jeanmonot also looking in amazing shape.

As for the men, Fillon Maillet would have likely won this race even in 2021 but in 2024 he can't match the Norwegians. Sørum probably deserves a place over Strømsheim or Lægreid at the moment.

Skiing wise, JTB looks in great shape ahead of the World Championships.

Not sure Soerum goes to the Worlds. I think Norway get 5 spots in Individual and Sprint but only 4 in the mass start.

For the individual races, I'd assume JTB and Tarjei do every race. I feel like Dale and Christensen should get the next two spots in the sprint (and pursuit) and mass start and it's then an option of do you race them in the individual or switch things around there if you want to give all of Laegreid, Stroemsheim and Soerum a race. If they both race the individual too, you're really just down to a 5th spot there and in the sprint. Relay should probably be Tarjei, Dale, JTB and Christensen and probably in that order.
