mamma mia, northug just got humiliated by the 3 swedes as only he desrves :D

this was a lesson he should remember.

In the end i think it was good for him, cause the 3 swedes made the race fast to get all 3 through to the semis.

at the end, it made no difference. petter is a shadow of himself.
i have to admit that i feel some...how should i say, some internal satisfaction at being right all along that northug did not deserve a selection in a sprint team. that a political appointment took place based on past exploits is not worth the long list of norwegian talents who could replace him.

LOL. Insane sprint. Hattestad wasn't even supposed to be at the Olympics, and ends up with a gold. Incredible.

He and Petterson looked like the strongest all day IMO so even with all the crashes at least gold and silver went to the two strongest racers.

ustjugov seem to crawl in the final. i don't think he had much energy left

very bad and unlucky olympics for russia

Damn after the quaterfinal i thought hermann would go for Gold.:rolleyes:

The mens final was a bit hilarous, of course. Hatestad is the deserving winner, though.

Very impressive performance by hellner. He'll be very dangerous for the 50k as well as for a Swedish relay gold.

I think Northug should be done for this olympics. Don't see any spot for him in the following events.

Intersting footnote. Conditions were quiet diffciult today for the technicians. Tim Tscharnke for Example was using a 20 year old ski cause none of his new skies was working!

What kind of comparison is that?

If that doctor is the best in his specialization, I wouldn't hate him, no.

But if every time I saw him he was making speeches about his own greatness, I would. And my reason for hating him would be nothing to do with his specialization, but because I would see him as egotistical and annoying.

Now, I see Martin Fourcade as egotistical and annoying, during races at least. But also, unlike a doctor, I watch biathlon for fun, for entertainment. When Martin Fourcade is beating everybody by a distance while playing to the crowd and skiing circles around his opponents like Bjarne Riis on Hautacam, I don't find it very entertaining, thus I doubly dislike him, whereas I don't go to see the doctor for fun, so when I don't enjoy myself at the doctor's, I don't feel let down and disappointed.

Fourcade has been on the podium in over 80% of the races in the calendar year, not counting Ruhpolding where he didn't show up. Sorry, that's predictable and boring. Maybe if I'm lucky, he'll win all the rest of the races here then decide he's achieved all he can do and retire like Neuner did.

I agree about Fourcade being boring to watch. I don't find Svendsen to be that annoying, though. He's definitely the least likeable norwegian biathlete (OEB=L Berger>>>>>>>>>>>TBoe>JBoe>>>Svendsen), but the fact that he's a norwegian and respects others makes him much more likeable than Fourcade. I don't think Fourcade has been that superior though. Afterall Svendsen has taken 4 WC victories aswell and JBoe has shown that he can easily beat him in the future. No reason to paint the picture as black as you do. Compared to cycling, the future looks bright ;)

I don't know, I just think he looked completely in control.

Anyway, I hope they let Northug out of the relay team now. Ideally, the team should be:

Chris Jespersen - Eldar Rønning - Lars Berger - Martin Johnsrud Sundby

Unfortunately that probably won't happen, as they always try to avoid picking biathletes for the team.

Soukalova is really, really great girl. She has awesome personality. After yesterday heroic performance ended with 4th place, she gave great interview in what she even joked about her underpants. This girl is really something. Impossible to dislike her.
