old muscle mama not even on the podium...cant say i am going to protest. even though i was rooting for kalla, i do feel happy for parma. as to haga's gold - not a huge surprise.

among other observations: it seems diggins is steeling the johaug's title for a fury cadence queen. whatever it takes to get up the hill... and she did it well enough to take the 5th. not bad.

yup, it happens. at least pärmä wasn't beaten by one hundreth of a second :D

biathlon: think dahlmeier is very confident and thereby super hard to beat. but I'll hazard a guess that Fourcade does not win. JTB or pfeiffer to beat him.

That's crazy from Öberg. Dasha was barely faster than her. I'd actually feel a bit sorry for Kuzmina if she didn't win a single gold medal the way she's being racing this season, but you don't deserve victories, you earn them. Still pretty gutted Magdalena Forsberg didn't win a single olympic gold.

Fantastic race by Öberg, what can you say?! Must admit that I was really surprised to see her pull this off in olympics, which is great.

Seems JTB wins this. Fourcade just wow, no celebrations there. Though I understand that Jesper Nelin may threaten the podium, even win (!), if he hits all targets.

E: Well, Nelin didnt.

^meat, you almost got it...too bad manificat tired out towards the end.

great consistent pacing from cologna and kruger, but spitsov was probably the fastest at the last 3 km. i was following the splits along with watching and was sure that sundby will bronze but the young russian beat him.

no complaining on my part and i do like this podium a lot better than all red.

Yeah, well, I had cologna win this more than two weeks ago, so that went right. I hoped manificat to hold on, but expected him to fade a bit but still podium. :)

But more importantly, it was nice to have a tight race again, at least for the podium. Also MJS's fourth was a nice touch, eh.

Along with Spitsov I think heikkinen was also really fast on the last kilometers but he just cant get the motor running early on.

Women's relay might become interesting. I think Norway must drop Sweden at some point. Otherwise Nilsson will win it for the swedes.

Think swedes will run with: Haag - Kalla - Andersson - Nilsson. So I guess the question is against whom Haga will be played in order to make the kill.

E:

Norwegians apparently run with: Östberg - Jacobsen (!) - Haga - Björgen. No Weng and Haga vs Andersson.

Finns had a tense formation process of the relay team, but Saarinen, Niskanen, Roponen & Krista Pärmäkoski will run. I presume podiuming will be hard, but maybe possible.

Hellner was actually the fastest in last 5km if I followed it correctly. At least he was the fastest in last 1.5km closely followed by Heikkinen and Spitsov.

Hellner and Heikkinen seems indeed to have an issue to get the pace up from the beginning, Heikkinen even more so.
