10/10 now. It looks much better for Tandrevold who's up in 9th at the moment, while Simon is closing in on Vittozzi at the front.

She's closing but nowhere near enough. She probably has to go clear to keep it close enough for tomorrow. She needs the French to step up and make sure LV doesn't take maximum points

As long as Vittozzi doesn't win, there will still be a race tomorrow. But with 15/15 for the Italian, and now 2 misses for Tandrevold it's not far from being settled.

Scandinavian led FIS
On the biggest(?) Norwegian discussion forum (Diskutopia) there are plenty of people that are pissed off on the Central European led FIS that are ruining the traditions of cross country skiing with short distance races, mass start races and so on.

International co-operation with a lot of countries involved is good, then one can always blame the others when it fits.

Tbf I'm happy with either of them winning. Still been a great season for Ingrid, other than 10 days at WC.
She really stepped up to the big leagues. And it's nice to see someone who is shooting the lights out week in week out being overall champion.
Ingrid will come back stronger next year hopefully.

That last lap couldn't have gone much worse for Tandrevold. Now she has to win tomorrow just to have a chance, unless the Vittozzi from a few years ago suddenly reappears.

61 points is the difference between 1st and 11th, I think. Not sure who has the tie-breaker.

Edit: I think Tandrevold, but only if she wins

There are a lot of Scandinavians that are at the top of FIS. Vegard Ulvang was the co-creator of the TDS. He also was in favor of the sprints and mass starts. He was with FIS for a long time. He isn’t there anymore, but others are. They clearly wanted these changes. Maybe some of the individual federations don’t, but most of FIS does/did.

If I was tandrevold I'd go insane for the first few laps. See if she can get Vitozzi out of her comfort zone.
Also she needs to bear in mind that when Eckhoff was pipped by Wierer, she came back and had a season for the ages.

So assuming everyone carries their ski speed over from yesterday, JTB has a lead of about 100 seconds. He's normally really good when he's a front runner, how much could he win by? Over or under 2 mins?

2 min is possible if he shoots clean 4 times.

It would have been funny if this of all races would have been the one where Jacquelin finally took anther win, but those two misses could be seen from miles away.

One more time into the kingdom of Sycophancia we stride.

That said, it's a joke of the calendar to have sprinters in contention for the overall on the final day anyway, but I'm not looking forward to the rewriting of history of how Jessie beat prime Bjørgen, prime Kowalczyk and prime Johaug to dominate due to the sheer power of the fixed grin.

None of which is Jessie Diggins' fault.
