Botn finishes the season as he started, winning. It will be interesting to see if he and Lægreid can put up a fight to Perrot next season assuming that they don't get sick this time.

Hopefully Giacomel will also be back at full fitness.

When Sundling and Svahn make it a 1-2 in a 20k race, you know it has been a boring race. Good 4th pace from Karoline Grøtting, she will be one to watch next season.

The men's race was also boring, Klæbo won both the race and distance globe, one of the few things that was missing from his palmares.

Gee, I wonder why he was able to win the distance globe…

it was a boring race, but Karlsson, Groetting etc must have crashed there right ahead of Diggins for Sundling and Svahn to suddenly end up in the lead.

Yes the two of them collided and both went down. Probably Karlssons fault but haven’t seen any footage. Apparently, Sundling had to jump to avoid being tangled up

Diggins crashed on her own. Earlier in the race, Slind took out Karlsson.
yeah, I'm aware of that. And while Diggins crashed, the camera missed Karlsson and Groetting doing the same ahead. Svahn went from 8th to the front in that corner.

cyclism'actu reports that Emilien Jacquelin has signed with Decathlon's NewGen structure, but doesn't foresee abandonning biathlon, with participation in the 2030 Olympics still a goal.

Great to watch a bit of the off-season events here in Mosjøen, with the joker lap and the city centre vibe it's kind of a cross between rallycross and cycling crit racing on skis, but it's a fun little festival seeing a lot of the international brigade out there.

Patrick and Mike are very much in off-season mode too, celebrating the return to form of Petter Northug and talking about his proposed (not particularly seriously) transfer to Mexico to compete at the "Torino Olympics"... fun to see some of the athletes from the NoCo out there for show as well.

Hedegart being out there is getting kind of funny, he's flip-flopped over whether to persist with XC or return to biathlon about four times already this offseason. It seems at present biathlon is winning despite his shooting being unsurprisingly far worse now that he's spent most of the last couple of seasons not practicing it, and his not making the A-team for the offseason training. But after he declared for XC he ended up having some conversations with the Norwegian biathlon federation and changed his mind within a couple of days.

It kind of reminds me of Miriam Gössner spending 2009-10 on the XC World Cup and then returning to biathlon after winning a medal at the Olympics in cross-country having not shot in competition all season at the end of the year, but Hedegart is far further down the road of specialisation in XC; she only had one year out of full-time biathlon and her medal was a relay one, she wasn't winning XC World Cup races or individual Olympic medals like Hedegart (I know she later finished half a second off a medal in the Nordic Worlds in Val di Fiemme, and that Tchekaleva who took that bronze was later DQed for being involved in the Sochi doping making that result highly questionable, but she only raced Val di Fiemme as a wildcard moonlighting in the XC team, since that was during her best World Cup season, there were no serious considerations of her becoming a full-time XC athlete at that point)
