Further updates from the Aspen Times:

This story has just about run its course... not a lot more in it...

And Jan. 12, the day that Armstrong?s attorney was served with summons, Hansen tweeted a photograph of the cyclist with two of his children at the sledding hill by the Aspen Recreation Center.

Now the cancer jesus scam has dried up, the kids come in handy for image damage control.

It has pretty much run it's course--except for the Internet commentaries. The only way that there would be any more play would be if Lance decided to go to trial. And it's pretty obvious that this isn't going to trial.

Where are all the dumb people who actually believed this story? Humans are stupid. Poor Lance. Why did so many people believe the BS he propagated?

For me that's way more sad than Armstrong lying.

Hoggie, you know it's not just human stupidity alone.
I had several friends, cyclists that survived cancer during Lance's rise. They actually found motivation and comfort in his "story" however self serving. The subject of his fitness rise was not discussed because they didn't care to know.
Even as the truth was coming out it became a source of friction between the more ardent fans among our friends because I was not an outgoing supporter. I wasn't confrontational or even comfortable talking to them on the subject because people don't let loose of misguided faith easily.

My Dad went through several rounds of chemo and was surrounded by educated health professionals; many sporting yellow wristbands. The number dwindled until he died but those folks enjoyed the fraternity of the health care providers and probably ignored the more obvious signs until they couldn't avoid the truth. Lots of reasons for people to care; very little about the actual facts.
Was that bad? Not every hard truth serves a purpose and the lie actually helped some people. If Lance hadn't profited mightily, blamed and damaged others and went away gracefully much of this dialogue would never occur.

Is Lance following in Bruce Jenner's footsteps?

(until a few months ago I didn't even know who Kim Kardashian was, much less that there was a Bruce Jenner connection.)

Bruce Jenner Lance-Armstronged the decathlon at the height of the steroids era. I would be surprised if his endocrine system wasn't thoroughly messed-up right now. Too bad he's probably too cowardly to come forward. It might help some kids in the future.

I believe (s)he's coming out rather than coming forward

I believe Bruce won the decathlon in 1976 with the USSR there, in Montreal Canada.

Fuentes is now being reeled in for Swiss bank accounts that don't seem to be tax deductible expenses after all.
It seemed like a lot of ****ie hit the fan once Interpol got involved and this could be a cue to Lance's "spidey/sleazy" sense that it's time to settle. Granted, he just tried to get his Most Recent Public Baby Mama to take the hit for smashing into parked cars and it's hard to judge just how low he sets the behavior bar; but you'd think he has enough improprieties of a financial (tropical island/swiss vault) nature that he'd want to get the USPS stuff dealt with and maybe some of the offshore stuff indemnified as part of the deal. Maybe bring out the Weisel card he's holding....
In short; keep enough dough to pose in Costa Rica with Mathew. Lord knows that after the Lincoln commercials Matt need some time away from a camera. Lance could even take time to go somewhere with the kids.
The cops...I always knew it would be the cops to get 'em.

Fuentes is stupid. Even still, they haven't gotten him. Ferrari... I'm not holding my breath. Lance? SSDD.

When it comes to tracking money I would bet that the Feds have narrowed down a few things. Fuentes and Ferrari can't move that much money around without a trail. You're right on the count that Spain and Italy haven't done much. I would expect that the Feds would be happy to tie up Lance's funds, though. That's the only way you force a deal imo.

Lance is going to get gashed at summary judgment. He has already admitted to so much...

Too bad they can't get him on criminal offenses to freeze the assets.
That would be panic mode for Wonderboy.

Wonderboy can fight this. We all know it. He's a champion. If it takes throwing Wiesel and Verbruggen to the wolves to restore that legacy, to prove once and for all it was indeed a level playing field, then that's what needs doing.

Fight Wonderboy!

i would have thought he has significant surplus funds, and he did not have to divest the Austin estate. He was a significant earner in the 2000 decade when Weisel and other rich bankers and businessman could have found him guaranteed plays that were doubling and tripling of that nascent equity stage.

Even when the tax he did pay to the IRS, I would have thought that ~200mill in his pocket, and on D-Q's rounding error metaphor, if he has a dozen QC's on call and that ex Clinton crisis manager spinner, it is only the interest revenue on his equity/investment.

And yes, this assumes to the 2008 stockmarket bust. I have no doubt it would have wiped out some of his investments. But the SP500 have recovered, and he would have had opportunities to get out, before, when most were completely wiped out.
