(not directing this specifically towards you) But when people in the "middle of the road" predominately defend one specific point of view, I would suggest that their middle of the roadness masks their true beliefs.

We have a nickname. MOTR pronounced Motors. Thanks TFF.

Sounds like you could be projecting a reality onto the facts rather than viewing the facts. Be careful with that. It's a slippery slope. (I recognize that the phenemona you describe occurs but it is a fairly large assumption)

Motor's is fine with me so long as the preponderance of the posts remain neutral. What I see from SOME is not that at all. There are a few, and I even find common ground on other subjects with a few who are clearly on the opposite of the Lance issue.

We all project our reality onto facts. That is part of being human.

edit: However, I should have written "many times I would suggest that..."

The 1999 figure is his pre-season weight. Like any athlete, he probably put on some weight between July 1999 and Nov 1999.

The other thing you're missing in the strict "lean body weight only analysis" is the redistribution of the weight. If you look at pictures from 1993 and pictures from 1999, there's less upper body mass. Period. There's also possibly more lower body mass.

Even the pics of him taking 4th in the 1998 Vuelta he looks like his upper body is much much smaller.

Yeah, but he probably put on some weight after the 1992 season too. Duh. Both 1992 and 1993 weights are preseason and both 1992 and 1999 are measured in November. Regardless, doesn't change the fact that Armstrong was the same weight or slightly heavier post- versus pre-cancer.

In regards to photos, what a load of baloney. Photos can be very deceiving. Objective weights in published reports trump subjective photos which can be manipulated and their interpretation depends on angles, light, etc.

Not with Amster and some of these other tossers it isn't. All they do is complain about other posters and their opinions. By pure coincidence, I am sure, all those they complain about are not Armstrong fans.

But, here's the rub. There are people like me who find it off-putting that anyone who posts anything resembling a positive opinion on anything related to LA, JB, etc is automatically pounced on, called a fanboy, and ridiculed. I've only ever commented on how sad I find it that so many go so far out of their way to take potshots, call names, and generally act juvenile. Case in point, we've now said we need to categorize people in the middle, as if anyone who posts a positive is a fanboy and anyone who posts a negative is a hater.

How about we all just post cogent, well thought out opinions, and leave the name calling and generally childish behavior to other forums?

I don't really care about this issue but...

Pictures are weak evidence. Girth (the circumference of limbs) would be an objective measure and would demonstrate the "re-distribution" theory, I doubt anyone has that data tho.

Just for reference, this is your 4th post ever on this forum:

WOW.

They got stuck in traffic and arrived late. The haters will stop at nothing. It really is pathetic.

Today, you did the same thing to me. I hadn't posted anything about any of your posts. You just came along and jumped right in with all of YOUR "hater" attitude. In fact, all one needs do is click on your name, click "Find all posts by colwildcat" and they can clearly see that you are a hypocrite.

I respect dishonest posters even less than the most militant of fanboys.

Amster complaining about other posters? Say it isn't so, Joe. Looks like another post for the Amsterb!tch thread.

Bro stalking people to gratuitously insult and abuse, surely not. Who would have thought that the board's loudest mouthed head tosser can only dish it, he can't take it. Bwahahahaha.:D

I have a huge collection of Amsterb!tch posts already. Keep 'em comin'. Of course they are not hard to find since about 60% of his posts are him whinging about other posters.

The way Amster reacts when anyone take a jab at Armstrong you would think his mother was being insulted.

I did the same to you because you chose to inject LA hatred in an unrelated forum concerning a completely different team. While I may try to point out how some people's hate gets in the way from them being taken seriously, I may have not followed my own advice once or twice.

Having said that, you're right, I think you're a buffoon.

Good thing there's an ignore function. Check out my 10 posts in the last 2 hours. Nothing gushing over Lance, nothing that qualifies me as one of your fanboys.

Exactly, and that is thanks to the wonderful atmosphere created in this forum by the abusive bullying of the head hate boy tosser and his few brown-nosed running mates, who indeed make a habit of pouncing like rabid wolves on anyone foolish enough to come out with anything whatsoever that sounds remotely positive about LA.

It really is a very sad state of affairs.

(and I'm off to bed, looking forward to a great day's racing tomorrow)

Being a hypocrite is hard to take, huh? You are right, the ignore function works really well.

Once or twice???? ROTFL. He's not only a a saddle sniifer but also delusional. Maybe the two go together. Once or twice. LOL!!!!!!!!

Maybe you and that other ****er, Amster, could get a room. When you two are not pleasuring each other while staring at your posters of The Lance, you can complain to each other about what a cruel world it is where other people on the planet do not love The Lance as much as you two. Of course, you would have to avoid getting in a slap fight when you start aguing over who loves The Lance the most.

I really expected the each of you to have made a couple of dozen posts about Armstrong in the "Schlong" thread.

By the way, just to close the loop, and since my memory isn't what it used to be, my 4th post on this forum, which you felt necessary to look up, was in response to people accusing Astana of doping since they arrived late and missed the sign in. I'd say that was a ludicrous accusation, so ridiculing those who put it forward was something that I don't find hypocritical in any way whatsoever.

"Schlong thread"? I didn't realize there was a whole thread devoted to what a condescending **** you are......

I guarantee I "love" Lance less than you hate him. I can actually post an opinion on something else, where it seems you lack that ability.

Yeah, ludicrous that someone who has been found to have artificial EPO in six of his urine samples might delay the testers to dope again. Ludicrous that he has delayed the testers three times this year. Ludicrous that other posters would have the audacity to actually point out how suspicious it is. Ludicrous that someone might put two and two together. Ludicrous that everyone does not keep their heads firmly in the sand like you. Ludicrous.

People.... less scrapping and MORE LANCE! This is his thread, afterall.
.

why not...

LA rode much more intelligently today. He rode the final climb at his own pace and paid little attention to the accellerations he cannot match. A much different approach than the way he has always ridden in the past. He even rejoined the attacking riders fairly easy by doing this. (There was a slowing when Schleck realised he couldn't shake AC but that's also a pattern likely to continue)

If he is going to limit his losses in the mtns and hold on to a podium position he will have to continue in this way. At his own rhythm. Riding the tour as a dominant force is different than as one of many fairly even contenders fighting for the podium.
