Blake 9.69 with headwind just now in Lausanne ...

It´s all about the jamaican leg lift.
Nah, Blake just learned the same lesson that Gatlin learned - once you get off the drugs you can sprint faster than ever. Damn PED's just slow you down, man.

Bizarre story: http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120828/sports/sports7.html

Paralympic athletes inflicting damage to gain from the bodies natural response to injuries that they cannot 'feel':

To ensure there is no cheating at the Paralympics, officials will be testing not just for the usual banned drugs, but for a practice called boosting, where wheelchair athletes do things like break a toe to cause a blood pressure spike to enhance performance.

In able-bodied athletes, intense physical exercise automatically raises the heart rate and blood pressure. Athletes with a severe spinal cord injury, however, don't get that natural boost.

To get a rapid rise in blood pressure, wheelchair-bound athletes may resort to another solution: inducing a state called autonomic dysreflexia. That is a reflex that occurs when the lower part of their body is exposed to painful stimuli, like filling the bladder to capacity, using tight leg straps, or sitting on a sharp object.

This. Millar is a media wh0re who uses anti-doping as a way to attract attention to himself and ultimately make money. It is all about his own image. We saw Millar's true attitude about doping when he called Landis disgusting for revealing what was going on at Postal.

Millar is a better looking Joe Papp.

Hardly.

I actually admitted the full scope of my anti-doping violations and crimes and collaborated intensively w/ the anti-doping authorities and law enforcement to roll-up as much of my network, former competitors, ex-colleagues, and business rivals as possible. Millar claimed he used EPO what, a couple of times and that he only doped b/c his team did everything but hold him down and jab the syringe in against his will.

Please...

Has it been mentioned that the Italian Alex Schwazer, 50km walker who earned gold in 2008 and DQ from the last Olympics following an EPO positive in 2012, has admitted that he met "5 or 6 times" banned-by-CONI Dr. Ferrari?

For "training plans" of course. Nothing else.

Stay away, drug cheats. If you do come though, try to avoid turning up to your ABP blood test or something, mmk? Nothing will happen.

http://www.insidethegames.biz/olymp...e-to-drug-cheats-qstay-away-from-london-2012q
July 11 - The head of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has called on athletes taking performance-enhancing drugs to stay away from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

http://www.insidethegames.biz/olymp...-sanction-for-missing-blood-test-appointments
September 26 - A number of competitors at the recent 2012 Olympic Games in London missed appointments for blood tests without incurring sanctions, it has emerged.

The disclosure comes in the Independent Observer (IO) report on the anti-doping programme at the London 2012 Games that was published this week by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
...
Asked to clarify the statement in the report, WADA told insidethegames that there were "a number of appointments for ABP tests that athletes failed to meet during the Olympic Games".

WADA confirmed there were "no consequences" for athletes who missed an appointment for an ABP test, but said it understood that "most of them" were tested "at a later date during the Games".

The report's disclosure may raise new questions about the efficacy, and cost-effectiveness, of the ABP as a weapon in the battle against drug cheats.

Professor Carsten Lundby, a Swiss-based blood doping expert, told insidethegames earlier this year that the ABP's "ability to reveal EPO doping is virtually zero".

I wonder what Dr. Eric Heiden would say about Ye,
or his own clean sweep of all five Olympic speed-
skating events in 1980...all in Olympic record time.

Maybe he just used the ideas in his head before he put them on paper?

;)

The book: Faster Better Stronger

Of course as a Dr it wouldn't hurt to have to have another highly respected Dr (if not an athlete) collaborate on such a book.

Heiden needs his own thread.

Hmm maybe he has one....

He got a 3.5 years ban, but had allegedly already retired last year.

Is that a 4-year ban with a deduction for helping out naming names, or 2 plus aggravating circumstances to come to 3.5?

More 2012 London medals being redistributed.

London 2012 discus silver medallist Darya Pishchalnikova 2nd offense, 10 year ban.

European 800m champion Yelena Arzhakova has been banned for two years for longitudinal profile AAF. Russia retested May 2012 samples.

As posted elsewhere, Russian Athletics has a huge number of 2013 positives for some reason.

http://www.athleticsweekly.com/news...lptekin-tests-positive-for-banned-substances/

Cakir Alptekin could face a lifetime ban, with the athlete having already served a two-year doping ban after testing positive ... in 2004 as a teenage steeplechaser. That's more shocking than the second positive.

IAAF says more positives are coming. I wonder what the strategy is behind funding back-dated testing. Maybe there's another wave of doping in cycling scandal coming?
