So, if the American swimming coach calls "dope" when a 15 year-old chinese girl surprisingly beats all the favourites, I wonder how he reacts when a 15 year-old American girl soundly with - what was it? 4 seconds? - beats the favourites at the 800m free. Probably nothing...

(I've got no idea or opinion as to what either of them does or doesn't do - just don't care much for stone-house dwellers throwing stones all over the place)

i am 105% with you here.

some of our western sporting brass are truly anti-doping and deserve all the respect in the world (thick hint - usada, coni, afld...)

yet others are essentially fat egotistical pigs with a tinge of racism driving their views.

it is really ironic that the chinese DO have a 'history' (in swimming, athletics...) using the steroids but the racist pigs uttering the accusations probably don't know the history b/c they are too blind, too busy protecting their own gravy trains !!

Only dropping just below NWR pace when the rest of the field and current WRH were out of sight.
She still had a good couple of seconds left in her tank.
Gave it away in interview, improved by over half a length.

Thank God she's not another Brit, is all I can say.

I see we have had a "lady" run 10.8" in just the 100 metres 1st round.
The spirit of Flo Jo lives on.

Americans would never dope. It is not in our DNA like other countries. It is an insult that you would think this fine athlete might be using drugs. Americans do not have state sponsored doping. FACT!

Damn. Canadians have such US envy. And, here you go rubbing it in our face again.

If not for Ben Johnson, we could claim to be as pure as the DDT-laced lichen in the arctic tundra.

Totally agree. The hypocrisy is sickening.

I am sad that people suspect there might be doping in womens 100m sprinting. Shocked actually. It just does not seem possible. Bodies like this are built on good old fashioned American apple pie.

Regardless, this is an awe inspiring photo.

Not seen S Korea so assume they must be winning in sports like shooting and archery etc.

Must admit I don't like being a spectator anymore as I know what top athletes will do to win and so my little internal pessimist isn't a blind believer...

10 personal bests out of the top 14 in the women's 10,000 metres. Good conditions i suppose, 17C and lightish winds is better than they get at most major championships. Maybe suggests this will be a fast track?

Is that even the same person? I think the current CJ may have swallowed the real CJ whole and stolen her identity.

Check out her progress
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/biographies/country=usa/athcode=189546/index.html

She changed to doping coach John Smith.

Transforming into an alien like this one:

... the "woman" who didn´t need to breath after running 11.00 today.

... and here Jeter is acting as Ben Johnson:

Edit: ... oh, i see BroDeal put it in already. Seems we all still love Ben Johnson, since it´s the 3rd time this foto is used.

Whaddya know? Marion jones defending Ye.

That´s normal. Dopers do that for dopers. Example: Pereiro Sio last year...

It´s pretty normal for great athlets to transform at an old age. See Armstrong, Rominger, etc... (ok, swimming is different, the coming out age is around 15 there)

;)

They say that BS since Carl Lewis run 9.86 in 1991 (i am still a fanboy :D of him anyway. I stand by him). From 1980-1991 he always ranged between 10.00 and 9.92 ...

For a moment there, I thought you said she was acting with Ben's Johnson...

Maybe she did. Isn´t steroid use a contagious disease? :D
