That, of course, is nonsense. Maybe for the media Stybar was sandbagging, but he didn't do high intensity training in January for Paris-Roubaix.

Sure, he probably did some training for it so he wouldn't show up and finish somewhere embarrassing and too make sure it wouldn't be a waste of his time. But I seriously doubt he tried to do a full on peak for a race in which he only decided to race it a few days before.

Looking back what he said was that it was a training camp in Mallorca with some of his road teammates that gave him the form to compete.

Less than 40 hours to the start now.

My favourites:

**** Boonen
*** Stybar, Roelandts
** Van Avermaet, Chavanel, Langeveld
* Terpstra, Hushovd, Vanmarcke, Boasson Hagen

In your list of favourites I'd choose: Langeveld, Hushovd, Vanmarcke, EBHagen.
and anyone but OPQS. but I fear they will win...

No he didn't. He didn't even know if he was going to ride it until a couple days before iirc.
Exactly.

So outside of OPQS who do we think will win? Chavanel now at IAM interests me.

Good list, but among the outsiders of this Het Nieuwsblad put Lars Boom, Matteo Trentin and Luca Paolini. At least one star!

Forecast clouds and possible rain for saturday and sunday.

Not much wind tomorrow, but sunday it will be around 25km/h.... I actually have no idea if that's enough to cause problems for the bunch. I hope it is.

"Defending world champion Sven Nys had speculated yesterday that Stybar would ride after the Belgian spotted him in Mallorca doing hill intervals."

Yep, Nys already said 3 weeks before the Worlds that he was sure Stybar would start. Also, Vantornout and Pauwels saw him during training in Mallorca, where he was absolutely flying according to them. They knew right away Styby would be a big contender.

Having just spend $10 on a session:

Got FDJ as outsider. Team:

61.BONNET William
62.BOUCHER David
63.DELAGE Mickaël
64.DéMARE Arnaud
65.GESLIN Anthony
66.LECUISINIER Pierre-Henri
67.LE BON Johan
68.OFFREDO Yoann

Three of these can win the race.
I guess you truly are dazed and cofnused. they could only win if 90% of the peloton just died this morning

Couple of changes in the line-up:

Gert Dockx out -> Kenny Dehaes in (Lotto)
Manuel Quinziato out -> Rick Zabel in (BMC)
Dylan van Baarle out -> Steele Von Hoff in (Garmin)

Reason they don't start?

I mean Quinziato normally is a very good cobblerider and I was curious about van Baarle.
