Odds are MVDP wins here, but in all honesty he ain't looking as good as expected so far. I do'nt quite dare to bet against him but i would not be surprised if he does not win here.
It wouldn't be strange in his first race, but I got the opposite impression. He closed the gap with Vermeersch very easily.

This will be 2 minutes to the peloton by the time we get to the finish. One of the most embarrassing collective efforts I've witnessed in a spring classic, there is zero will or belief in the basic concept of riding a bike race by 90% of the riders worth anything today and that was already clear before Molenberg.

Literally everyone is back lmao. Philipsen, Magnier, Pidcock. Peloton let them all come back, just sat on their asses with the podium gone. Unbelievable.

Commentators up and down the land about to get fooled into thinking Pidcock can ride cobbled classics when he pulls an out of context 5th out the bag.

Peloton has finally remembered the basic concept of pulling. The cherry on the cake will be Vermeersch and Van Dijke getting dropped like stones on Muur and then not surviving for second and third.

Meeh even now, it's 3 guys. Lotto has 6 in that peloton and they use like 2. Visma 5, use 2. So many teams who don't do anything.

Awful mindset to have for the classics. You always race to win
What is UAE/Red Bull's play if this group is reabsorbed into a peloton that includes Magnier, Groves, Philipsen, etc? Their odds are gone. What they are doing now is in the best interest of a good result, including their best chance at a win.

I wonder if they are all surprised they are not coming any closer with e 5 beaufort tailwind.

Or just in the 35 man peloton together with 2 Lotto's. It would be maybe 35 seconds now instead of a minute.

This is a race you can win with a late attack. Küng almost did it last year, Tratnik actually did it the year before.
