Ryo I wouldn't discount boom yet, he showed himself quite well last year, but couldn't handle the distance. Agree he could do well on Ardennes, but he believes he can succeed on the cobbles, and from what I've seen so far I see no reason why he shouldn't pursue this belief.

Taaienberg is maybe why he has never won :D

Damnit, I'm going to miss the race live because I got to substitute for another player in the table tennis competition.

I don't know how many Dutchies watch the Omloop, but my guess is: not many.

Point taken. But still relatively more than anywhere else in the world I guess (apart from Belgium of course).

This guy only follows the big classics and the tour, so I guess not. Still bums me out :p

When I played football, I always had a mysterious injury on the day of the Omloop.

Well, it's enough to warrant an entire afternoon of Nederland 1 broadcast, so I guess quite a few people watch it.

Although why anyone would want to watch it on the NOS when you can get Sporza just as easy, is anyone's guess

Not having every second word be "Boonen!", maybe?

Yeah, instead having every other word be Boom or Armstrong, much better

Armstrong? I can't remember the last time they talked about that guy. The problem with the NOS is more that Dijkstra is a complete idiot, doesn't understand anything about cycling, doesn't know anything about cycling, has a terrible voice, and has boring and tired anecdotes.

There will be many, because its a cycling-nation.

It is easy for you to check it - just walk around and watch their livingrooms. :D
They all have HUGE windows.

It has something to do with the taxes I heard ?

Well, now you realize how infrequently I watch it on the NOS (I'd even rather watch on Eurosport)

They can't watch the tv while they're standing in front of their windmills in wooden shoes, watering their tulips.

Well write off Boom.

He said he had a good recon, but has a 'nauseous' feeling. Probably get sick coming saturday. He has a way of getting sick a lot

It's true, about the windows. :D

But the only people watching NOS on saturday will be the people who watch 'Studio Sport' as moving wallpaper. They'll ask themselves 'Where's Gesink?'.

It's sad, but ACF's stereotypes come so much closer =/

Yeah, I forgot that while watering their tulips they'll be having their **** sucked by a prostitute, smoking a giant spliff.

The ones that will be watching won't ask where Gesink is. They'll ask when the football starts.

The only thing I'm worried about is if they do protest and the UCI leaves and that this somehow has an impact on the race itself if some teams decide to drop out or if they cancel it altogether etc. That would be terrible.

NOS vs. Sporza
If Mart Smeets is on, he talks too much about Armstrong. If Mart Smeets is on, he talks too much in general because he doesn't follow the sport any more and makes a lot of stupid mistakes. The other ones are better, but still don't know half the inside information Sporza-people tell you. Sporza-men really know more than people like us because they do much more races and cycling journalism in general is more serious in Flandres. The NOS-people know about the same as most people here on the forum.
And, besides Sporza off course likes Boonen, they also like a lot of other big stars from other countries so I'll definately go for Sporza instead of NOS.
