Do Belgians never tire to point this out? I don't know how many times I've read this. It's almost like you guys feel your season start threatened.

This.
I can't be arsed, waiting for almost March.
My season starts just as soon as I get to see some racing.
Besides, the Italian season proper started last Saturday.
I reckon any race that's run to nearly 60 editions is real enough.

Still, this is the one that will get everybody paying attention.

If there is no wind or rain, then they might even postpone their REAL start into season, till its windy AND rainy in one of the next races.

HTC's Allan Peiper said yesterday "It was looking pretty dirty out there, there's a lot of mud covering the roads, it was wet this morning and we're expecting a very testing event, a really muddy and murky day's racing."

And with rain forecast it should be fun...

I'm sorry, didn't know it was said here before. (except in the 'when does the season start for you'-thread)

I just wanted to show how bad i'm looking forward to this race...

Flecha - EBH Boonen and Gilbert mark themselves out of it and a wily in form fox takes advantage

Unless he is on duty but given the overall strength of Sky he should not need to...

Weird, the Team Sky website isn't even mentioning EBH in their preview of the race and in the "race photo" where they usually use the pictures of the three leaders in the race they have Arvesen, Hunt and Flecha. In addition, Arvesen said in an interview that he has a free role in the race. So EBH could be planning to ride for Arvesen or Flecha, or perhaps it's just Sky's attempt to reduce the pressure on Edvald.

Sky have probably looked the most powerful outfit in the run-up to this weekend without actually winning much. So my money's on them to continue in this vein and podium but not win.

Rabobank have had a stunning start to the season but I can't see anyone who's likely to win here.

Garmin have looked strong but Hushovd less so.

So we're left with the Belgians. Quickstep has the better form. So,

1. Quickstep (Boonen probably).
2. Edging out someone from Sky.
3. Gilbert or some other Belgian.

So much bitterness in your words... The guy was just stating the obvious. :)

This will probably be the first race where Garmin can show exactly how strong their new classic squad is. Of course it's still early on and they don't have their best classics squad at tommorow's race, but the hype they've been getting will hopefully be answered tommorow.

My guesses will be either:

Philippe Gilbert

Pippo Pozzatto

Thor Hushovd

That's not for the podium. It's the three guys I think have the best chance at winning.

What a good day to be alive.

Langeveld FTW! :D

Indeed... allthough a little bit bitter I can't see it live. I will be recording it ofcourse.

If Langeveld or Boom wins.... or any other dutch guy I'll do some dancing :)

Hey you're not the only one, here too. But ok, if we avoid spoilers it still should be a nice watch :D

Could well be that its EbH and Stan get the leaders roles tommorow. And today is their prep ride.
